Less than 50% of those graduating from high school enroll in a 4-year college. They can't afford it, but they still go. Funny how that works.
From Copliot:
When we look at all U.S. residents aged 18 to 24—not just high school graduates—about 31% were enrolled in a four-year college or university in 2022. This includes everyone in that age group, whether or not they finished high school.
To break it down:
- 39% of 18- to 24-year-olds were enrolled in any college (2-year or 4-year).
- Of those, roughly four out of five were attending a four-year institution.
- That gives us the 31% figure for four-year college enrollment among the total college-aged population.
So, while nearly half of high school grads go straight to a four-year college, the broader picture shows that less than a third of all college-aged youth are actually enrolled in one—largely because some don’t graduate from high school, delay college, or choose other paths.
So, once again, you are wrong. This has become a habit with you.
