What else would it be? Jews were always tools for the govt. as far as the lower classes were concerned, as tax collectors, bankers, etc., and were self-isolating culturally and socially, the latter being the only religious connection. It is only natural that many would be willing to join movements to bring down any govt. that later on would treat them as they would the rest of the commoners.
