About their religion, sure.
However, they DO NOT have the authority to speak on what is in the New Testament, especially when they admit they have neither read it, nor want to see it quoted to them.

I think being curious about religions which are not our own is a good thing. I studied pretty much every major religion and a few of the primal religions as well. I found all of them fascinating. It doesn't have to be adversarial or a competition.
My mentioning the evidence for my beliefs was more about how I worked through my choice. I hear a lot of people arguing there's no evidence or basis for the ministry of Christ and that just isn't true. I didn't state the evidence to evangelize Lisa. We all have to make our own choices.
