This one;

Even ding pointed it out. . . you don't know what is there, and when I showed you, you became an unhinged leftist.

(You know, that is what authoritarians do, suppress and try to slander the evidence when they are wrong.)

About their religion, sure.

However, they DO NOT have the authority to speak on what is in the New Testament, especially when they admit they have neither read it, nor want to see it quoted to them.

I think being curious about religions which are not our own is a good thing. I studied pretty much every major religion and a few of the primal religions as well. I found all of them fascinating. It doesn't have to be adversarial or a competition.

My mentioning the evidence for my beliefs was more about how I worked through my choice. I hear a lot of people arguing there's no evidence or basis for the ministry of Christ and that just isn't true. I didn't state the evidence to evangelize Lisa. We all have to make our own choices.

Carl seems to think it is perfectly acceptable to quote New Testament verses to Jews, and Jews have to be quiet and listen.

Their way or the highway.
right---they consider it to be an ABSOLUTE TRUTH. One can quote the
NT as a "PROOF" just as muslims consider the quoting of the koran as a
"PROOF" Take it for what it is----jelly-bean logic

I think he is saying that since Christianity is the dominant religion of the land you should expect it. With that being said, once informed that it is unwanted, a good Christian should be understanding and comply with the request. I would expect nothing different from a good person of the Jewish faith.
But the problem comes about when Christians quote New Testament verses to Jews they KNOW run contrary to Judaism and then they insult, criticize, or mock them when they say that Jews don’t believe all that.

IOW, Christians (not all of course, but ones like that poster) seem to think it’s OK to tell Jews things contrary to Jewish teachings, but NOT OK if the Jew then states what she believes, contrary to Christian teachings.

I took a course on Jesus in college. Read all four gospels.

Being Texan, I've met very few Jews in my life. The few I have met were just in passing, so it's not like I could get presumptuous and ask them personal questions about Jews.

I've read books, I've seen documentaries, etc...............

Most of it stems from the Hitler era, and I understand why Adolph Hitler hated Jews. BUT.......WHY is there hatred NOW?

Is it as simple as progressive hatred from the Nazi era? Or is it something else completely?

I really don't understand this particular kind of hate. But I would like to understand.

WHY such wide stemming hatred against Jews?

It can very rapidly devolve into an adversarial situation for sure. I don't think it's good for anyone.

Some people look at different religions and see differences. I look at different religions and see similarities.

Speaking of Islam. Are you familiar with their belief about surrendering to God?

Lots of similarities between Christianity and Judaism since Jesus was an observant Jew. Much of what he taught were traditional Jews values.

He especially admired Hillel.

YES---a very big issue in Islam. SLM is a "root" in arabic as well as
hebrew-----sometimes rendered as "Peace" It sorta means making
all things OK a FULFILLMENT of all given situations

I agree.

However Lisa believes she knows what is in the Christian texts, or the intent of the Christ more than those who were raised in the faith. It is the height of absurdity frankly. She hates Jesus, who the hell is she to opine on what he meant?
To top it off, she's then insulted when she is proven wrong. :wtf:

I have no desire to tell a Jew or a Muslim that they have interpreted their religious texts wrong, why on Earth would a Jewish woman be so presumptuous to do the same, and then turn around and say she doesn't want to see the scripture that proves her wrong?

This is the same type of ass-backward gaslighting the establishment oligarchs do to the masses on the regular.

Who said I hate Jesus? He was a good man, and a good Jew.

The hatred comes from the lies started against Jews with a new ideology called Christianity. All the lies and hatred stem from the NT, from all the gospels written long after a man named Jesus, who did not start that ideology, was alive.

It did not start with Hitler, that is very ignorant of History, any and all History of the world.

One man, who founded Christianity, told endless lies which led people to be afraid of Jews, hate them and endlessly attack them after the Romans took over Christianity.

Massacres, torture, rape, destruction, expulsion, forced conversions, the Inquisition, expulsions from many countries, then more massacres.

That led to some Jews realizing that Jew hatred was never going to end and they had to rebuild their Nation on their ancient homeland, which had not been allowed for 2000 years by Christians and Muslims.

In a nutshell, what we see today is extremist Christian and Muslims not allowing Jews to have their Nation, to be seen as full humans with every human right.

It is lies, fear and hatred passed on from generation to generation.
Antisemitism is Christian based? Not according to the Bible or according to history.

Tell that to the Jews held in slavery in Egypt for 400 plus years. Tell that to the endless empires that looted and raped them and took them into captivity, where they tried to eradicate them. Tell that to the secular humanist Leftists at college universities today singing "Gas the Jews" and chasing them into attics at these Left wing universities.

The hatred of Jews can be summed up in Revelation 12.

12 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.”[a] And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. 6 The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.

7 Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

“Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.
11 They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.
12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens
and you who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short.”

13 When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach. 15 Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. 16 But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.

the very opposite of the 1st century events ...

ace must think their response was in approval.

or rather for what surly was never spoken and the heavenly reason they gave their life for liberation theology, self determination - than the desert dwellers religions of servitude and denial.

You are arrogant and ignorant. You think quoting the New Testament to a Jew “proves” anything? Jews don’t believe in what the NT says.

I don’t recall that, but I do recall the negativity toward Jews - especially the last one.

I did a study on comparative religions.

One l found interesting was the Unitarians. They believe in Jesus, but not the Trinity- three in one, however that works out.

Actually Revelation 12 is about the new covenant church of Jesus Christ, of which Jews had no part, still don't with exception of a few messianic Jews.
