Zone1 Jesus Christ: The MYTH

So imaginary gods are just as valuable as "real ones".

Have you actually read the bible? the Bible blamed just about every setback Israel suffered to Yahweh being angry about something.
No. Imaginary ones don't soften hearts. Imaginary ones don't reveal truths. Imaginary ones don't imbue reality with their attributes. Imaginary ones don't provide reality to all parts and places at all times.

I have read the Bible which is why I disagree with your assessment. Try googling "did ancient Israelites craft narratives of historical events to teach lesson about the covenant, obedience, justice and their relationship with God?"

I think who the supreme being is should have more universal acceptance than what language you speak.

Hey, only 50% of the people in my home speak English. the other 50% (Mrs. B131) speaks Mandarin. Now, is this a huge problem? Nope. With Google Translate, we are usually able to communicate effectively.
You missed the point of your own thrust that only fifty percent of the population is Catholic. So what? While only twenty percent of the people speak the most widely used language in the world (English), what difference does it make? As you pointed out above--no difference at all. So why do you think there is a problem that half the population is not Catholic?

Of course you see it that way. Your displeasure with Christianity has been apparent since you started posting here.
When I worked for the Catholic Church I was director of therapy in a nursing home run by Catholic Social Services. I watched them kneel before a statue of Mary and pray to her. Thats both idolatry and polytheism.

Evaluation and evidence.

For instance, when my mom died, and Sr. Mary Butch said the stupidest thing I ever heard in my life, (and I post on USMB, and hear a lot of stupid stuff) I did an evaluation, and decided the right answer is, there probably isn't a God. I had my doubts before that. But that was the winning stroke.

Conversely, I used to vote Republican. And then 2008 happened and I found myself with an underwater mortgage, a busted 401K and was forced to take a job that paid me considerably less than I was making. Then I realized the Republicans only really care about rich people and I should stop pretending I make enough money for them to care about.
And I see you never have forgiven Sister Mary who was merely trying to comfort a little boy who could not be comforted. She could have merely said to you, "I am sorry," and you would still be blasting her for that. You continue to be proud--even exultant--that she reached out a hand to you and you slapped it away. You still consider that rejection a vital part of your life. You are also extremely proud you never forgave her--and others.

Evidence. Pffft. Your constant bitterness is all the evidence needed that someone overlooked both evidence and has a weird way of interpreting how/what he evaluates.

So you blame Republicans for 2008. It was tough for us as well. I look back on the decisions I could have made as compared to the decision I made. I saw what banks and credit companies were doing, how they were greedily scraping in wealth while binding people in debt for decades. When 2008 hit, it was hard, but we were fine. The reason for this is that I was not reaching for pie in the sky and elected common sense to guide my decisions. The reason: By the time I was in my early twenties I saw all politicians and all people in power were making/promoting idiotic ways that would build immediate wealth for themselves and leave all the rest of us struggling and reading propaganda the media bought into, also for immediate personal wealth.

Stop blaming others. Look at the big picture and take responsibility for your own decisions.

What did they say when they were praying?

And you worked for the Catholic church.

Hmmmmmmm...................

Okay, but let's say you found out there is no afterlife, and what you did in this one had no effect. No heaven or Hell, you just die, and that's it? Would all the grovelling still be important to you?
There is a chasm of difference between groveling and worship. Worship is is giving God and His ways first priority. We have no time for your groveling. God's way of life is for our present existence, the here and now. This way has worked very well for me. Afterlife or no, this is a blessing in this life, and I would not change a thing.

Father son holy ghost, Mary worship and a devil. Thats polytheism
Human: Body, mind, spirit. Are you three individuals, or is that the make-up of one.

Mary is not given first priority (worship) over anyone, she is shoulder-to-shoulder with the rest of us who make up the Body of Christ.

Individual cant be applied to more than one thing. Thats what it means. Thats like saying nose ear and foot.

An individual is a single, distinct, and indivisible entity, typically a human being, considered separately from a larger group, class, or society.

You are assigning human emotions to God. Step back and look again. Start with, For every action there is a reaction. There are consequences for all that we do or choose not to do. The Bible notes that abiding by the ways of God brings good progress. Choosing worldly ways instead halts this progress. Why expect choosing worldly ways to bring about the same the same results/consequences as following God's ways?

Regardless of your choices youre going to make bad ones and experience opposition. Thats life

Yes, there's the most important thing [or whatever it's called] because if there is a God or an afterlife, treating other people decently probably won't be deemed a bad thing. Will we get "good points" for it? No one knows. But getting "bad points" for it just doesn't sit right.
Forget how you are treating others and focus for awhile on how you are treating God.

How so? Where there is faith-themed art, it follows there is a quiet place for prayer. A quiet place in nature also invites the same--a place for prayer. Christianity is where all followers of Christ (Christians) make up the Body of Christ. Mary is no different. Christians also believe in joining in prayer with each other. Christians believe that the Body of Christ is made up of both those living in this present life and those who have passed on.

I suspect, Hafar, you are seeing your own, personal reality when viewing Chrisitians praying. We are living another reality--the Kingdom of God.

And God is One. When we speak of Father/Creator, of Word/Son, of Holy Spirit we are speaking of One Being. We don't separate these attributes of God any more than we separate body, mind, spirit from the earthly individual.

Tell him to come out of hiding and step forward so I can size him up.

Of course. Use the analogy of the classroom. Students are there to learn. No matter how hard they study, how hard they work, they will get something wrong due to their inexperience. That's life in the classroom. However, those who choose study and pay attention will achieve the set goals. In life, there are even more variants than in a classroom. We can't know what other choices are on collision course with our own decisions. We are beings of little experience, and we learn as we go along. However, pausing and reflecting on what is the holy choice (even when driving) keeps one better aligned with God who is holy.
