Zone1 Jeffrey Epstein survivor Jess Michaels on her story and the importance and impact of the recent news

Somebody didn't want discovery to happen in that. IMO.
The federal government (FBI) shut down the State of Florida's investigation and made a deal with Epstein that Florida didn't even know about

The documentary also explains how Epstein managed to get away with so many of the things he did. There are also video segments of Epstein being questioned either by the detectives or in a deposition and him consistently pleading his 5th, 6th & 14th amendment rights.

The Netflix documentary tells more of the whole story:

To be sure. The longer democrats yell about Epstein, the more questions arise. It's really looking more like a creepy old guy luring young, very naive, women with grandiose promises of fame and fortune. For years I expected the targets of Epstein's predations to be generally from 6 to 10. Nope. I expected little girls tied up in the basement, beaten and terrified. Nope.

Jeffrey Epstein was a very creepy guy. He lied endlessly to these young women. They believed him because they wanted to. He deserved to be in prison. Since he could not be rehabilitated, that would be for life.
The federal government gave him a deal in which they claimed he had immunity as well as all of his "named and unnamed accomplices" - then they showed some of the women who were covered by this. It's very interesting.

As far as the women/girls being naive, they intentionally targeted vulnerable girls and girls who had been sexually abuses in many cases. And they used the girls they had enticed to bring in other girls.

And giving someone a massage in your mind means if they've gotten aroused due to the massage, they have the right to take things further and have sex with the masseuse whether the masseuse is willing or not?

It wasn't that she wasn't willing to have sex with him. They just couldn't come to financial terms.

Easy money does that; it's called being a ho.

That's not how most women end up becoming victims

I know that. Most women become victims because they don't have enough sense to stay out of destructive relationships. And it's not always entirely the man's fault, it take two to tango.

I've been in enough bad relationships to know this.

I don't usually have the patience to sit and watch videos but this one I found particularly compelling. And to be honest I can understand why so many people appear to believe that whatever happened with or to these women is no big deal. I guess that's due to the grooming aspect. Maybe. Or maybe it's because it's starts out as one thing (a massage) but ends up being something else (unwanted sexual contact).

Mariyam, I think she knew what she was getting into. In that case, I don't have much pity for her. If you're willingly putting yourself into perilous situations, you are a thrill-seeker, someone seeking peril and attention, and in this case, victimhood for the sake of notoriety.

It's appalling, really.

Technically, most of the women were late teens early 20s. No one younger than 14 and those girls just giving creepy massages. Since Epstein never went to trial we don't actually know.
In New York, 17 is the age of consent.

In Florida, 18 is the age of consent.

There are some exceptions, like Romeo and Juliet exceptions where their age difference is within 3 years...like a 20yr old adult with a 17 year old....in a state like Florida with 18 as the age of consent.

Exactly! Groupies have always thrown themselves at the famous and fortunate, in order to get a piece of the fame and fortune for themselves. That's pretty much what spawned the #MeToo movement back in 2017. That wasn't as much about "justice" as it was about greed and revenge.

Didn't I tell you to stay away from me?

I'm not sure if anyone's ever informed you of this, but the internet is not your personal space. You chose to put yourself here and you need to accept some personal responsibility if your feelz get hurt.

I meant victims of sexual assault, not just domestic violence or sexual assault that occurs within a relationship.

Furthermore, blaming the assault on the victim if a man is aggressive and refuses to take no for an answer, is a really weak response.

The most common source of sexual assault for women and girls is someone they know and trust, often a family member, intimate partner, friend, or acquaintance—not a stranger.

🔍 Key Statistics (U.S.-based, but globally similar patterns):

🔹 RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network):

  • 8 out of 10 sexual assaults are committed by someone known to the victim.
  • Perpetrator breakdown (among female victims):
    • 39%: Acquaintance
    • 33%: Current or former intimate partner
    • 6%: Family member
    • 19%: Stranger
