No, they didn't have to do a war on Serbia, they had all the assassins in custody. They never got out of Bosnia (which the Hapsburgs were illegally occupying, BTW). My grandfather died when I was 8, so I have to mostly go by the word of my father and Aunt about what his thoughts on the war were. (My dad fought for the US Army in WW2, and little Joey was confused that Grandpa and Daddy were shooting at each other, not quite realizing they were separate wars.)
