One concern I always had was some nefarious actors simply changing the list. Adding names of people they didn't like politically etc.

It should have been addressed long ago. It would have been leaked at that time except that any names were clearly people they didn't want to be named.

FBI director Kash Patel and deputy director Dan Bongino previously suggested powerful people had Epstein killed to keep their connections to him secret. The duo reversed course after joining Trump’s administration, stating they believe Epstein died by suicide.

Vance was just as adamant in suggesting powerful figures colluded with Epstein, only for the Justice Department and FBI to announce Sunday that they did not find the “incriminating” list he was rumored to have — prompting Vance’s old posts to resurface.

“What possible interest would the US government have in keeping Epstein’s clients secret? Oh…,” he wrote on X in 2021, before doubling down in another post: “If you’re a journalist and you’re not asking questions about this case you should be ashamed of yourself.”

Elon Musk appeared to irreparably damage his relationship with the president in June by claiming Trump “is in the Epstein files.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi said in February that the list was “sitting on my desk right now to review.”

“Seriously, we need to release the Epstein list,” Vance said during an October appearance on comedian Theo Von’s podcast. “That is an important thing.”

The "Epstein list" turned out to just be a list of people who flew on his plane. Flying isnt illegal and the vast majority of people who flew on his plane never engaged in any illegal activity. It wouldnt exactly be cool to throw innocent people to the conspiracy theorist wolves.
