The Japanese government has allocated billions of dollars in a stimulus package to help manufacturers move production out of China and into other countries.

The stimulus package, which is to offset the financial hit of the coronavirus, includes 220 billion yen, or $2.2 billion, for companies shifting production from China back to Japan, and 23.5 billion yen for companies to shift to other nations, according to Bloomberg.

This is a positive development that hopefully will spread to other nations doing business in china

I've listed Japan as one of the nations America must trust as an ally. Yes, we all compete on the globe, but Japan shares a love of American values and they both understand and confront the threat to them and the globe that is represented by the communists. So this is great news.

Good for Japan, they see the problem and are fixing it. The US needs to make the same moves. Raise the Chinese tariffs, they don't care about their own people and even less for outsiders.

Unfortunately unless the consumer grows an appititte for quality over cheap quantity it will make no difference in the long run. This must be backed with a campaign of quality over quantity in the consumers minds. Otherwise cheap labour will win out again.

That is why the US needs to raise the tariffs and push Chinese product prices up.

It would help if consumers took the long view and demanded quality even if at a higher cost

but we can raise prices on imported chinese products through tariffs
