here is a CNN quote As he vows "law and order," President Trump remains silent on Jacob Blake shooting " This is the investigation report, NOTE Investigation in Progress <He had a Knife on him and was reaching for something in the car, granad, Gun or another knife

They have released little other information after the Wisconsin Department of Justice began an investigation.

There was an active arrest warrant in Blake's name at the time of the shooting, the Tribune reported, though there is no suggestion that the police were called because of that.

Court records indicate Blake had been charged with third-degree sexual assault, trespassing, and disorderly conduct in connection with domestic abuse on July 6.

Court records also show that on two occasions, in October 2018 and April 2019, Blake had been to court over child-support payments. The records show that both cases were dismissed.

Blake was UN-employed and might have been involved in Drugs deals in the Community

Now if your a police officer which these days NO ONE wants to what do you do when a person with this 3 year record do when he, Blake dose not listen too the Police?.. Foirst of all its Not POTUS Trumps call to do anything its the Police Chief, Alderman , Mayor or Governor, so is CNN being fair and open in thier charge?

Shooting a man in the back is cowardly to begin with, but
this was 10 times worse.

Get over it.

It does seem like these things are getting a bit out of control. Arrestees disregarding armed police. Police shooting people in the back 7 times. I have to admit that when I saw the video of Jacobs walking away as the cop aimed his gun, I wondered why the officer simply didn't tackle him to the ground?

Seems like police don't want to get their hands dirty and when push comes to shove, too often are simply willing to kill you instead. I wonder what a cop would do if this were a DC congressman disregarding police orders walking back to HIS car?

The cops were called out that night because a woman called them saying that her ex was stalking and harassing her--------media doesn't report this nor do they ever report on Blakes history of domestic abuse and the assumption is that they cops were called specifically for him because he was again going after his ex girlfriend (and money maker).

10 years in the pen would have changed his attitude.
Now he's a martyr in a wheelchair....soon to be a rich rap star with some big hip cop-hate songs.

If he hadn't fought the poo poo and resisted arrest reaching for the knife in his car he'd be healthy and walking today...

LET'S BE REAL, "DOC:" In 95% of the cases, I'd agree the police are right, but in a few percent, you JUST HAVE BAD COPS. In some other cases, you have a failure of the system. THAT'S NOT A KNOCK ON THE POLICE. They don't write the rules. They are just doing what they were trained to do. But in some cases, that training and our system falls short of what would have been a better more ideal outcome.

It never hurts to look at these things and wonder if not things could have been done a better, different way?

Would it have been better for you if Jacob Blake made it to the SUV, grabbed the knife attacked and knifed one or two Leo's before he was shot? Don't forget he was shot twice with the taser and it had no effect on him while he fought the officers and broke away.

That's a total strawman argument and you know it. I've already said a hundred times that the police did the only reasonable thing they could do in the Jacob case that night. All I'm saying here is that no one can say the police are right in ALL cases. In what industry can we say no one ever makes mistakes or there is no room to improve? Just as we constantly look to improve cars and make them safer, it is wrong to not ever reexamine policing and look for ways to improve that as well.

It might not have saved Jacob's life, but there are some cases where people have been killed that it is just plain hard to understand why it happened. But like I've already said, police are just the tip of the spear. Despite the bad actions that get many people in trouble, the irrefutable fact is that
  1. We have an amazing number of people in prison. More than any other country.
  2. A great many of them are Black, minorities and poor.
  3. Our justice system seems unduly biased against poor people, making criminals of them and even poorer.
  4. Our legal system seems to be like a black hole attracting people into it, once in it, hard to get out of it.
We don't need to defund police, we need to reexamine all of society and our legal system. We need to work at fixing our society, unemployment, poverty and the legal system, so that more people have better opportunities, better ways of getting and staying out of poverty, alternatives to crime, better education, and there are better solutions than just stiffer and longer sentences because THE PURE PUNITIVE MENTALITY AIN'T WORKING.

I was a bit disappointed that Trump gave no address to the problem other than to ramp up law enforcement. That may satisfy the symptom in the short run for the affluent by keeping the riff raff out of sight, but ignores the bigger problem in the long run--- --- that we have TWO classes of society: the affluent and the poor.
