If he doesn't have a case strong enough to survive being passed to another attorney, it would likely be a loser or overturned anyway. If Smith is smart, he will request for expedited trial within four weeks. Then when Donald opposes, ask the court to recognize that Donald is waiving his right to a speedy trial, and then ask to reset trial to 2029.

The purpose of these Fake Charges was to influence and possibly stop the 2024 election. There would be no reason to have a trial after Trump leaves office.

Further, Jack Smith is an ILLEGAL special persecutor, as he was never confirmed by the US Senate as required in the constitution. He doesn't have legal standing, and I'm sure he may have to face charges against him soon for impersonating a US Attorney.

Joe Biden (stolen docs), Hillary Clinton (classified emails), the Democrats on Jan 6, 2017 trying to decertify the election. Maybe the SC would have to weigh in on it sometime next summer. I wouldn't necessarily approve of it but would have no substantive objections. I would hope, moreover, that the prosecutor would be held in line by a judge not willing to be steamrolled by an activist who would be running for office on the promise to "get Donald TRUMP!"..
