Italy PM Meloni freaked out over Trump possible pullout of troops from her country

She's got a purty mouth.

Far Right in Europe isn't the same as in the US. In the US, it's more fascist than Italy's Fratelli d'Italia (Brothers of Italy).

Like most European leaders, she understood that Trump's war in Iran was going to severely limit the flow of oil out of the ME leaving Europe vulnerable to Russian supply.

Giorgia Meloni: Neo-fascist or far right? Why Italian PM's tenure raises questions among political experts

She is attractive.

The Euros obviously trend toward the socialist side and their media had taught them to hate Trump. She's just pleasing her base.
She is juggling a lot of plates

Too many muslims in Italy that could turn violent

But europe did a lot of business with the mullahs in Iran

What a dumb bit@h

When trump wanted permission for US jets to fly over Italy on bombing missions to Iran she flatly refused

What did she expect would happen?

Unfortunately, NATO participant have their noses out of joint because Trump forced them to up their percentage of GDP toward their own defense .
As it is Russia could probably steam roll across Europe if it weren't for the USA.
Britain, France, Germany and Italy admit lacking a military, munitions or the materiel to defend themselves.
NATO has identified these deficiencies and is working on plans to address them, but achieving adequate defense readiness will require substantial investment and time. Something they all have failed to do.

The Free Ride is over

The U.S. does not pay direct rent to Italy for military bases, but rather spends billions on construction, operations, and personnel. Since the Cold War, the U.S. has invested over $2 billion in construction alone for Italian bases, such as in Naples and Aviano, which serve as key logistical hubs for operations in the Mediterranean, Africa, and the Middle East. [1, 2]
Key Financial Details:
  • Construction Spending: The Pentagon has spent over $2 billion on construction to turn Italy into a, or even the, primary center of U.S. military power in Europe.
  • Operating Costs: The U.S. funds all maintenance, personnel, and operational costs for over 13,000 troops and 16,000 family members.
  • Indirect Costs: Estimates suggest an additional €500 million (approx. $540M) in indirect costs are associated with U.S. bases in Italy.
  • Host Nation Support: Italy often provides land rent-free, while the U.S. funds infrastructure and operations.

I’m sure they will give it plenty of lip service and hope that trump is not president when the sh/t hits the fan

What makes her think anyone gives a shit if she supports US troops leaving Italy?...lol
IMO, if she doesn't want to help us, what good is she? :dunno:
The call came, and she turned us down. There's no going back from there.
Mr. Marco ain't playin' no games. Good on him for how he is, too.
Mufugger has balls the size of grapefruits.
Next up: ¡Cuba Libre!
And he's in charge. Oh yeah, his daddy would be so proud.
Marco's a great American.
