It was this act that persuaded the British occupiers to leave Palestine, which led the UN to end its role of supervising Palestine and allowed the Jews there to declare and then establish the sovereign state of Israel.

If you knew anything about Cast Lead, Protective Edge or the various Lebanon wars, you would know they had nothing to do with the creation of the Jewish state of Israel which is what we are discussing.

The Arabs were absolutely the instigators (and still are).

The Jewish people and the Arab people both lived both in that territory, ruled under an Empire which acknowledged neither of them as having a right to self-determination or statehood. There was immigration from both the Jewish people (already existing on that land) and Arab people (already existing on that land). Both peoples have the same rights to self-determination on that land and for the same reasons. Two peoples who had both existed on that land for centuries (or millennia). (With the caveat that the Jewish people are indigenous to that land and the Arab people are not indigenous to that land, which I am pointing out only for clarity and accuracy, and NOT to reduce the rights of Arabs.)

When the right to self-determination became a fundamental principle in international humanitarian law, the Arab people tried (and failed, and failed, and failed, and failed) to prevent a people with an equal and legitimate claim to self-determination on at least a portion of their homeland from achieving any kind of self-determination and sovereignty. And that is ******* wrong.
