It is time for someone who appeals to the Bernie crowd to run as an independent

Get away from the restraints of a biased DNC and you'll do better. There's demand for a real progressive candidate. You can get that through an independent candidate. That candidate will fair better against Trump than Hillary

It doesn't need to be Bernie who does this. It could be someone younger who just picks up the torch of Bernie's movement and keeps it going

You think the revolution conducted by the Founding Fathers and their followers was easy?

No Bernie. No Clinton. No Trump.

Someone sane.
You will only get that if a centrist appealing independent runs and that will only happen if another independent who will break up the left vote runs

Any way you look at it....we be fucked with what we have right now. And the whole world knows it...and will take advantage of it. We are going to be bombarded from all fronts and we are NOT prepared. Too much in-fighting to pay attention to what is happening "out there" and it ain't just the ME, either.

Yup. What goes around comes around

Dear Super_Lantern
What if the solution is not just one person, but a senate system of collaborating
between working leaders of the progressive third parties: the Greens, Libertarians,
and even the independents who are either with other parties or none at all.
Similar to a Congress that takes inputs and votes from reps from the states,
but instead people and groups are represented by party. And all are respected equally.

Use the given party system that the Greens and Libertarians have experience
using, but expand on it to provide regular representation and collaborative meetings,
actions programs and fundraising/development between members of all parties
who aren't represented by the winner takes all system of the two biggest bullies monopolizing everything.

Why not set up universal care/singlepayer as a national network voluntarily
created and developed by the people who WANT to make it work -- not
the people opposed or the people freeloading off it while others do all the work.

We can take back prisons and schools by creating jobs and training to manage these better directly.
So the funding from programs can come from restitution from crimes/abuses, from saving
money from stopping waste and abuse, or directly by investing in solutions and deducting from taxes.

I agree it's a group effort. That's why I just roll my eyes when people put so much stock into who is president. We need good people all over the place doing good things in order to get America how it should be

They could vote for pothead Gary Johnson.

There is very little incentive for a Sanders supporter to vote for Johnson.

1. It helps Trump
2. While Johnson is socially liberal, so is Clinton and Johnson's libertarian views are the opposite of a Democratic Socialist.
3. There is little evidence liberals have voted for Johnson in the past.

The Bernie crowd needs to be schooled on reality, not pandered to.
I see the Bernie crowd as essentially a growing movement that understands America can't keep going on like this. They understand it better than supporters of any other candidate. I don't think it's so much about turning America into a socialist country as it is being serious about solving problems like income inequality (or systematic imprisonment). If there were a non-socialist answer to the problem of American's income inequality epidemic that could be implemented, I don't think people in the Bernie crowd would reject it for not being socialist enough for them

I see you're finally resigned to the fact that T-rump is a joke who will never win, and are hoping for some stranger to come save the day for you.

I'm tellin' ya, the answer is sooooooo simple.

Hillary runs as the Republican.
Bernie runs as the Democrat.

Such a deal.

Fuck Rump. Politically he's bankrupt. A condition he should be used to.

That income inequality bullshit is just that -- bullshit.
The poorest Americans have it better than the wealthiest in many countries and need to be reminded that the opportunity to get wealthier is always there.

Yyyyeah umm.... the comparison is not between any set of Americans and completely unrelated demographics in other countries. Never has been. Perhaps it's you who needs to be "schooled on reality".

I would think that with Hillary Clinton having a 3.5 million vote lead over Bernie Sanders that's going to get much larger tomorrow when New Jersey, New Mexico, the Dakota's, Montana & California comes in, that it should tell you there isn't much support for a 3rd party socialist/independent candidate.
RealClearPolitics - 2016 Democratic Popular Vote

In fact Bernie Sanders comes in last place in the popular vote--3.5 million behind Hillary Clinton and is also well behind Donald Trump in the popular vote.

Why do you think Bernie Sanders changed his party status from Independent to run on the Democrat ticket? LOL He could have run as a 3rd party Independent, he didn't. He knew he had to change his party status to get support.

So I think your support for a 3rd party socialist candidate has dwindled down to this.

You conveniently avoided the last line of my post.
