You mean they shoot people directly threatening them and don’t shoot rioters who are no direct threat? I’d say, except for missing jump kick man twice, Rittenhouse did just about as well as you could expect anyone to do. An experienced cop or combat veteran would likely not done better.

If the police won't do anything and your only solution is to send out minors with assault weapons, then yes, this country is badly broken.

I almost agree with you for once. But the solution is armed adults, not seventeen year olds. Thanks to cowardly politicians the country is broken. When peaceful demonstrations turn into riots, the police and national guard need to respond with any level of violence necessary to apprehend and try the rioters. Cordon off the area of the riot then sweep inwards and arrest everyone inside the cordon. Then investigate every arrestee and prosecute them for every illegal action. Use the FBI’s investigation of 1/6 participants for a template. After all, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
