It Begins: Americans / 6 Planes Held Hostage, As Terrorists Refuse To Allow Planes To Take Off

Carter and Brzezinski began the process six months before the Soviets invaded Afghanistan:

Operation Cyclone - Wikipedia

Operation Cyclone was the code name for the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) program to arm and finance the Afghan mujahideen in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1989, prior to and during the military intervention by the USSR in support of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan."
so how did helping folks fighting off an invading socialist regime destabilize the country?

How many?

Your premise rests on the number of Americans that are still left in Afghanistan. The truth is, it really doesn't matter, does it?

Because even if just one American is left in Afghanistan that doesn't want to be there and wants to come home, that's one too many.

I find your lack of focus to be depressing. The whole point is that we care about our own, and we spare no effort to rescue them, not for political points, not for votes, but because we f**king care enough to get them out of a dangerous place. It's not a hard concept to grasp, even for you.

Didn't make up things - 'misinterpreted', according to you.

By arming the most reactionary right-wing religious bigots in Afghanistan, Carter and Brzezinski guaranteed unveiled women would have acid thrown in their faces instead of attending engaging freely in their society as they had under the Soviets and ensured al-Qaeda access to Afghanistan.

"The U.S. government has been criticized for allowing Pakistan to channel a disproportionate amount of its funding to the controversial Hekmatyar,[63] whom Pakistani officials believed was 'their man'.[64]

"Hekmatyar has been criticized for killing other mujahideen and attacking civilian populations, including shelling Kabul with American-supplied weapons, causing 2,000 casualties.

"Hekmatyar was said to be friendly with Osama bin Laden, founder of al-Qaeda, who was running an operation for assisting 'Afghan Arab' volunteers fighting in Afghanistan, called Maktab al-Khadamat."

You too can do better. Specifics?
Trump withdrew the majority of our troops, how many civilians were evacuated prior to that?
Why needed to evacuate civilians when you were still calling the shots.

Were any weapons taken from the Afghan Army? I so, how were they supposed to fight the Taliban?
No one is fighting the Taliban.

Trump signed an agreement with the Taliban that the Afghan gov't were not a part of.
YOu better re-read the agreement.

So the issue here is Carter…but what would have happened if say the Soviet’s didn’t invade? do you think the region wouldn’t of be destabilized? and folks that turned out to be radical wouldn’t of needed arms and would have simply been living in their caves?

I would think it would make more sense to evacuate while you are still calling the shots and had 16,000 US troops available. If you cared that is.

Were any weapons taken from the Afghan Army? I so, how were they supposed to fight the Taliban?
No one is fighting the Taliban.
I think their morale may have suffered once their allies were packing to go.

Trump signed an agreement with the Taliban that the Afghan gov't were not a part of.
YOu better re-read the agreement.
I did, the Afghan gov't was not a party to the negotiations. Also, Trump agreed to release 5,000 Taliban prisoners. Wonderful, except they were being held by the Afghan gov't and they did want them freed. It took pressure from the US to change their position.

how many Americans Vs card holders wanting to BE Americans would be my Q.......~S~

I already gave you the number of American citizens who are in Afghanistan from the mumbling lips of President Biden. What part of that was not clear?

Apparently, the 10% of 6,000 was too complex for you. The answer is 600. According to what President Biden has told us anyway. Then again, Biden hasn't been honest with us about anything else so there could be 6,000 Americans in Afghanistan.

When Trump was moving out WH, I believed only 2500 troops or so at Afgh. Nothing happened not a single soldier dies. So. troops' size made no difference.

As I said, you should re-read the agreement. Then, I guess you answered your own questions (2,3) already. In the end, I highly doubt that Trump's "Afgh-view" was that much different than Biden's "Afgh-view". Just, dumb people do it in a dumb way and smart people do it in a smart way.
