I suspect that The Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS) has been stalling on any kind of settlement, ceasefire, or prisoner exchange. I think HAMAS is trying to make the Qatari framework agreement a forced and desperate move in order to protect certain (yet unnamed HAMAS officials) for "serious" violations The Geneva Convention (III) Relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War - and - "Attack directed against any civilian population as outline thin the Rome Statutes."

There is another question to be explored, and that is very close to home in Israel. That is the question of news outlets and individual members of the media → broadcasting demoralizing and subversive literature that had an impact on both the Allies (outside Israel) and the temperance of the Arab Portion of the population in Israel. There is no question in my mind that many of these contributors played a key role in the continuation of Middle East Hostilities with the intent to hurt the people of Israel. It will be up to the general population of Israel to decide what, if anything, should be done with these authors who openly supported the Arab takeover of Israel.

IDF soldiers accused of violent hazing, including sexual assault

Military police investigate reports of physical, psychological and sexual abuse in Arrow missile defense unit; Air Force chief personally overseeing probe

Seven active-duty soldiers serving at the Israeli Air Force’s Arrow missile defense system unit, were arrested Tuesday by military police investigators on suspicion of physical, psychological and sexual abuse against fellow unit members, Ynet learned Wednesday.

The alleged acts, described as “hazing,” took place over weeks and targeted a group of about ten newer recruits, reportedly including acts of sodomy.

The investigation began after a soldier’s complaint exposed the series of incidents, with authorities now examining whether some abuses took place during the recent war with Iran, when the Arrow system played a key role in Air Force operations.

Indeed, the ICJ ruled (in the advisory opinion on the defensive wall in Judea and Samaria) that Article 51 of the UN Charter doesn't apply because of the technical reason that the Article is only concerned with actions between two states.

But that doesn't mean Israel doesn't have the right to defend itself.

Firstly and most importantly, Israel does not occupy Gaza by any reasonable definition of the term. But even without Gaza being occupied, Albanese and many other antisemites argue that since Gaza is not a UN recognized state, Israel still has no right to self defense.

How bizarre!

It is fascinating that they invoke the non-state status of "Palestine" when it suits their needs. Because by the same criterion, there is no occupation altogether, even in the West Bank, since occupation by definition (which is only defined in the Hague Conventions of 1907) is only of territory belonging to a "High Contracting Party" - meaning a state!

At any rate, while the ICJ decision says that the narrow definition of self defense does not apply to Israel in the West Bank, it states clearly in paragraph 141:

Israel haters claim Israel has no legal right to "self defense." As usual, the arguments are bogus.
