Haaretz reported today that "Israeli Death Penalty for Terrorists Won’t Apply to Jews."

The death penalty for murder in a 'terror act' that incoming Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman seeks will only apply to military courts, said a Likud source involved in the talks to bring Lieberman’s Yisrael Beiteinu party into the governing coalition.

Such a move, which Lieberman demands if his party is to join the government, would effectively exclude its application against Jews. Palestinians accused of terror offenses are prosecuted in Israeli military courts, while Jews charged with similar crimes against Palestinians are usually tried in Israeli civilian courts,

Proposed legislation would only apply to military courts, where Jewish suspects are rarely charged.

So not actual law, and it is doubtful if it will make it into law. But what is your problem as it is the Law of the surrounding Islamic nations so wont be all that harsh.

there is no rule in the geneva convention requiring israel to give or not give the death penalty to anyone. if they choose to do so that is their choice and their responsibility.

No they are set by the Geneva conventions, and in this case they are the laws of Jordan

there is no rule in the geneva convention requiring israel to give or not give the death penalty to anyone. if they choose to do so that is their choice and their responsibility.

There is one that tells Israel that they must enforce the laws of the nation that had sovereignty over the land they occupy, in this case it is Jordans laws which have the death penalty for various crimes. The Geneva conventions are explicit in this, and set the maximum penalties for the crime of murder or terrorism. Up to now Israel has used the lesser sentence of life in prison ( 25 years ) and this has not been a deterrent.


You really need to sit down with a copy of the whole Geneva conventions and read them through, cross referencing each aspect until you see just what can and cant be done. Then ask why the U.N has not enforced them on the islamonazi's
