Yeah, all candidates have to be approved by the mullahs. It's not exactly a wide choice of candidates. You have the extreme Muslim or the other extreme Muslim. That's some democracy for you; in fact, it resembles the democratic machine that has ruled Chicago for a century and a half or more.

Saddam wasn't a threat to Israel; he was a threat to his Muslim neighbors. He had attacked Iran to steal their oil; he had attacked and conquered Kuwait to steal its oil and only the ramshackle logistical system he copied from the Russians prevented him from conquering Saudi Arabia and stealing its oil. He tried to bring Israel into the war by shooting SCUD missiles at it despite Israel being completely neutral in the Gulf War and having done Iraq no harm whatsoever.

Okay, and none of that was our problem until the Zionist Lobby in Washington decided it was.

Pakistan and India have MAD. Mutual destruction is no threat to a religious fanatic that thinks killing non-Muslims is an express ticket to paradise.
