Israel is a Settler Colonialism Enterprise - Prove it

Remember when the British peacekeepers hung Jews in Palestine after WW II, a sad but very interesting part of history.

On 31 March 1947, Irgun set light to the oil refinery at Haifa, starting a fire which blazed for three weeks. In May, it attacked the prison at Acre, freeing a large number of inmates. On 29 July, in retaliation for the execution of three of their members, LHI kidnapped and hanged two British Army sergeants.

The Saudis were not rich in the 1940s and they didn't receive US Foreign Aid.

Kidnap and bombings

British soldiers were frequently targets for attack and kidnap, often in retaliation for death sentences passed on members of Irgun and LHI. A typical insurgent operation was the bombing of the British Officers Club in Haifa, in which 30 people were killed and injured.

On 22 July 1946, Irgun fighters also blew up a wing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, killing over 90 people, including many civilians. This attack broke the fragile Haganah-Irgun partnership.

I find this interesting.

Actually I have a high regard for Jews, but not for Israel.
(QUESTION)

I'm wondering what the State of Israel ever did to you?

Your story does not state that the British hung three Jewish soldiers? Your story does not state the Jewish leaders warned the British not to hang the three soldiers or the Jews would hang the British sergeants.

British colonial arrogance is a very low point in British history. It is hard to believe the British during war would hang POWs. As late as the mid 1940's.

They weren't in the army.. They were members of terrorist gang.

The Sergeants affair was an incident that took place in Mandate Palestine in July 1947 during Jewish insurgency in Palestine, in which the Jewish underground group Irgun kidnapped two British Army Intelligence Corps NCOs, Sergeant Clifford Martin and Sergeant Mervyn Paice and threatened to hang them if the death sentences passed on three Irgun militants: Avshalom Haviv, Meir Nakar, and Yaakov Weiss, were carried out. The three had been captured by the British during the Acre Prison break, tried,

Terrorists? Fighting the British invaders? Fighting in there homeland?

Again, your story does not state that the British first, hung three prisoners of war, and that the British were warned not to hang them.

Arrogant British colonialism

They were Irgun and they were murderers.

They weren't prisoners of war.

Haviv Avshalom was born on June 18, 1926, in Haifa, and moved with his family to Jerusalem when still a small child.

He joined the Irgun while in high school. When he finished school, he served for a year in the Palmach (the elite Haganah unit) as a condition for continuing his studies at the Hebrew University (a Jewish Agency ruling obliged every high-school graduate to spend a year working on a kibbutz or serving in the Palmach). When he returned to Jerusalem, he enrolled at Hebrew University, faculty of humanities, and resumed his activity in the Irgun, this time in the Fighting Force.

He took part in numerous military operations, one of them was blowing up of Goldschmidt House Officers Club.

In the raid on Acre jail, on May 4, 1947, he commanded the covering force (together with Yaakov Weiss and Meir Nakar), which continued to fight until captured by the British. The three Irgun fighters were tried in a military court and were sentenced to death. On July 29, 1947 Avshalom Haviv was hanged at the Acre jail, together with his two comrades: Meir Nakar and Yaakov Weiss. Haviv was 21 when he went to the gallows.

Arrogant British colonialism

The British and the Arabs fought to eject the Ottomans. The European Jews didn't fight.. They were just a tiny minority in 1917.

They were just Irgun killers who blew up the officers club.

Many of the Irgun fighters fought in the British Army. Your idea that the Jews did not fight in the Great War is historically false.

The officer's club and the king David hotel, the British were warned that they would be blown up. British colonial arrogance ignored the warnings.

So that makes it OK? Are you insane?

They were behaving like the Nazis. NO regard for human lives or the rights of others. If not for Britain you wouldn't have been given any land in Palestine.

You just described a military action. Not a terrorist act.
