Israel Breaches The Ceasefire Terms

Actuallly, I checked a few also.. And the Olive trees are an ONGOING campaign of harrassment -- not by the IDF as Ma'an reports, but by individual settlers in mixed Hebron. Reports of recent arson as recent as Sept.. But the Al-quds University deal IS a bit one-sided, making it sound like the IDF is just taking target practice. THere's a series of outside agitation groups largely run by Hamas that periodically hold protests and rallies at the University. Close to a military academy for Hamas anyway.. That's ALSO an on-going irritation.. Happens several times a year for the past couple years.

But I can tell you the REAL REASON for this laundry list. It's presence coincides with the REAL TRUCE BREAKING that happened yesterday when a couple crazed Palestinians launched mortar rounds into Israel from the Gaza Strip. Really trying hard to mask the "breaking of the truce story" here..

HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli soldiers set fire to Palestinian-owned olive trees near the illegal settlement of Kiryat Arba in Hebron late Thursday.

Witnesses told Ma'an that Israeli soldiers deployed in the area pushed a burning tire into an area of olive trees, causing severe damage.

Local Palestinians called the fire brigade to extinguish the blaze but were prevented from arriving in the area by Israeli forces.

From the London Review of Books blog: On August 26, a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was agreed upon, bringing a fragile end to a war that killed 2,150 Palestinians (mostly civilians) and 73 Israelis (mostly soldiers). Since then Hamas has not fired a single rocket, attacked an Israeli target, or done anything to break the terms of the ceasefire. Israel has done the following:

  • Annexed another 1500 acres of West Bank land
  • Seized $56 million of PA tax revenue
  • Not lifted the illegal blockade (as required by the ceasefire)
  • Broken the ceasefire by firing at fishermen on four separate occasions
  • Detained six fishermen
  • Killed a 22-year-old, Issa al Qatari, a week before his wedding
  • Killed 16-year-old Mohammed Sinokrot with a rubber bullet to the head
  • Tortured a prisoner to the point of hospitalisation
  • Refused 13 members of the European Parliament entry into Gaza
  • Detained at least 127 people across the West Bank, including a seven-year-old boy in Hebron and two children, aged seven and eight, taken from the courtyard of their house in Silwad – and tear-gassed their mother
  • Continued to hold 33 members of the Palestinian Legislative Council in prison
  • Continued to hold 500 prisoners in administrative detention without charge or trial
  • Destroyed a dairy factory in Hebron whose profits supported an orphanage
  • Destroyed a family home in Silwan, making five children homeless
  • Destroyed a house in Jerusalem where aid supplies en route to Gaza were being stored
  • Destroyed a well near Hebron
  • Set fire to an olive grove near Hebron
  • Raided a health centre and a nursery school in Nablus, causing extensive damage
  • Destroyed a swathe of farmland in Rafah by driving tanks over it
  • Ordered the dismantling of a small monument in Jerusalem to Mohamed Abu Khdeir, murdered in July by an Israeli lynch mob
  • Continued building a vast tunnel network under Jerusalem
  • Stormed the al Aqsa mosque compound with a group of far right settlers
  • Assisted hundreds of settlers in storming Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus
  • Prevented students from entering al Quds University, firing stun grenades and rubber bullets at those who tried to go in
  • Earned unknown millions on reconstruction materials for Gaza, where 100,000 people need their destroyed homes rebuilt. The total bill is estimated at $7.8 billion
Aftermath of Israel s Latest Assault on Gaza

Whether or not a single mortar shell landed harmlessly on a patch of dust outside of Gaza, Israel is clearly not a partner for peace.

Time to cancel Israel.

If the best you can do is a blog ( a persons own take on a situation that does not have to be truthful ) then it shows you are losing the argument and the plot

Thirteen European Parliament members have been refused entry to Gaza, according to Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson, who led the delegation.
Ms Anderson, an MEP for Northern Ireland, said the Israeli authorities barred the international group from entering Gaza on Thursday.

She said they were told it was because their visit was not directly concerned with the provision of humanitarian aid.
The BBC has asked the Israeli authorities to respond

I don't doubt that Israel has done these things before.
It is doing them again.

Try again as they are the dates that you looked at the reports, not the dates they happened. Like I said you have lost the argument and the plot.

These are Israeli ceasefire breaches since the ceasefire Jerry.

You seem to be trying to pretend they are not. Why are you lying? Is it now a compulsion with you?

No evidence to support your claim other than some blog, when you come up with something relevant and non partisan with a date stamp on it then we might listen.

Number 8 from the OP list:

A Palestinian prisoner tortured by Israel is moved to a hospital while Israel continues its policy of wide-scale detention of Palestinian political activists.

Palestinian prisoner Muhammad Hussein Rabee was transferred to a hospital after undergoing torture at Israel's Russian Compound detention center, the Palestinian Authority Prisoner Affairs Committee said Wednesday.

Muhammad Hussein Rabee, 33, from the village of Beit Anan near Ramallah, reportedly suffered health complications as a result of being tortured while held at the Jerusalem detention center for 40 days, the prisoners committee said.

Rabee was initially moved to the Hadassah hospital last week, and is now in the Shaare Zedek Medical Center.

In a conversation with the AIC, the prisoner rights group Addameer noted that its lawyers have not yet been allowed to visit Rabee and to date possess no additional information to that published in the Palestinian press.

Few details about tortured Palestinian prisoner in hospital

Held for 40 days ? ? ? ? ? ? so well before the ceasefire then. And the torture is "ALLEGED" not a proven fact. Plus it was outside of gaza so not covered by the cease fire agreement. So when you take out all the incidents that happen outside of gaza and are "alleged" by Palestinian sources you find that it amounts to ZERO

Can someone PLEASE post a link to the refusal of MEP Martina Anderson to Gaza that shows it was earlier this year!

Nothing new here, the Zionists have been doing similar things for 66 years without fear of repercussions while their American poodle covers their backsides. Interesting and enlightening article written by one of the people that helped bring down Mubarak. Here's another enlightening piece that might interest you by the same author,

"What was remarkably clear during this latest Israeli assault on Gaza is that cycles of violence are perpetuated and reinforced by cycles of rhetoric. The Israeli PR machine works by constantly shifting and re-setting the parameters of the discourse. Arguments are made and forgotten. Inquiries are held and dismissed. First principles are ignored and histories are erased by carefully trained spokespeople who excel in double-speak and a logic of empathetic violence audience-tested for optimum palatability. Their mantra: it’s not what you say that counts, it's what people hear."

Cycles of Rhetoric and Violence Medium.

You admit you are off topic Danny Boy and still want my attention.

Down boy! Down!
I'm talking ABOUT the topic, the very base first statement.
You still didn't answer..only trying to dodge, like a typical coward.. keep demonizing Israel with your pathetic lies, nobody taking you seriously anymore, barking accusations and avoiding a simple questions about the accusations you made, you're just a dust on my sleeve.

Hey, Danny Boy, I don't need to demonize Israel. They do a very good job of it all by themselves.

Honestly DB, I wasn't dodging you. I really really just ignored you.
When you are as popular on the forum as I am there are only so many conversations that you can try to hold at once. You were a bit of a late comer. And stating that you had not commented re the OP didn't help your priority.

So in answer to your questions: Yes Israel has violated the ceasefire agreement.
Now, it is important to remember that the precise conditions of the agreement have not been published. But they are reported.
Those being an extension of the free fishing zone to 6 miles and the opening of crossings to humanitarian purposes and building materials on Israel's side, and the cessation of hostile fire by both sides.

Specifically Israel has fired on Palestinian vessels within the 6 mile zone, and kidnapped a number of fishermen.
Some other things in the list probably qualify too.

We might presume that the non-disclosed detail of the terms were very Gaza centric.
However Israel has committed a whole series of new atrocities in the West Bank.

You ask how these are connected to Gaza - and presumably to the terms of the ceasefire: Well again, the terms are not published, but clearly the spirit of the conditions are de-escalation and stopping the overt aggression. Israel is actually ESCALATING and ADDING TO the overt aggression.

So it may be that the West Bank is not specifically in the terms of the ceasefire, and if so, THOSE breaches are of the spirit only.

But tell me Danny Boy: If Hamas initiated a series of attacks on Illegal Settlers, the IDF and Israel assets in the WB, would you consider that a breach of the ceasefire? Sure you would!

I hope that helps you. :)

Arrogance of the fools, nice post there Beelzebub but nobody even care what you think, I'm just pleased to know people find your deliberate ignorance an answer to your groundless lies, and don't be silly Beelzebub, we don't care about you :D

I don't think "want it all" is the proper term. All displaced Palestinians have the right to redress. All of the so called peace proposals would leave the majority of displaced Palestinians without redress.

You are saying the exact same thing as I said. If the 'so-called' peace proposals are so bad, why do the Palis want to then go back to the partition plan, then the 1967 lines, etc.?
