Why is Trump running on a issue that should be discussed at a state level?

  • State laws
State legislatures pass laws that impact their state residents, and some states have been at the forefront of LGBTQ equality. However, state-level attacks on LGBTQ people have increased since 2015.

If the Federal Government or Supreme Court ruled you have to let Trannies in the bathrooms they want, I bet red states would fall back on states rights. Well, why is Trump talking about Trannies in bathrooms? BTW he said Bruce Jenner can use any bathroom he wants in any Trump building. Isn't that interesting?

You mean trans-sexual. A transvestite is a man who dresses like a woman. And no it is not a State's rights issue since sports competitions are often international events.

Good point. Eastern Michigan University competes with schools in Ohio.

I can't believe this isn't settled. I believe Republicans don't want it settled because it's a great wedge issue. I hear it a lot. They're SHOVING IT IN OUR FACE. Or WOKE.

I don't take any politician seriously if they talk about this. This is just a social wedge issue and we have a lot more important thing but boy does it work on voters huh?

You see how much Republicans have spent on anti gay adds? Like $20 or $50 million? Crazy! Over nuthin

Aren't women's rights a federal thing?

For the record, if put up to a vote, I believe every state would say women should not have to compete with transvestites. Or transvestmites. Depending on if the point is up or down.

The trans issue of boys playing in female sports is relatively new.

At a minimum many of them cross State lines.

Those aren't anti-Gay ads. Trump has always been supportive of Gays and Trans going back to the 80s. The subject is men competing against women in physically demanding sports which should a no brainer HELL NO!! But this is America largely run by the Left so we have this nonsense and the abortion issue taking up way too much time and oxygen.

Transvestite, transgender, transsexual... they are not all the same thing and the terms are not interchangeable.

If aliens were watching our elections they would think Republicans have two beefs and 2 only. Because everything else is going well. The border and gays. That's the only two things you have.

a. Gays are like 1% of the population.
b. It's not like the economy sucks and we can't find jobs. We actually need people to come. Europeans don't want to come here and we aren't having enough kids. Simple solution. Make em legal.

No, it's a human rights thing for women. They have every right to their own private spaces and to be playing sports against other women. Riley Gains tied in points for the WOMENS NCAA Nation Women's swimming championship with a biological male. The NCAA in their politically correct wisdom, gave the championship to the man. He damn sure didn't earn it, Riley did, she proved she was just as good as the man.

So I really hope SCOTUS gets a case like this one, where women are being discriminated in women's sports and their traditionally private spaces.

The exact same reasoning can be used that was used in the Dobbs decision, I altered the words in Dobbs to meet the topic. Fictitious Decision:

As we have explained, men playing in woman's sports or invading their private spaces is not a fundamental constitutional right because such a right has no basis in the Constitution’s text or in our Nation’s history.

It follows that the States may regulate men in women's sports and invading their private spaces for legitimate reasons, and when such regulations are challenged under the Constitution, courts cannot substitute their social and economic beliefs for the judgment of legislative bodies.

A law regulating men in women's sports, their bath rooms and locker rooms, like other health and welfare laws, is entitled to a strong presumption of validity. Heller v. Doe, 509 U. S. 312, 319 (1993). It must be sustained if there is a rational basis on which the legislature could have thought that it would serve legitimate state interests.

Now tell me you couldn't envision that language in a future SCOTUS decision.

Damn that was a whole lot more energy that I planned to put into that dumb ass OP.
