OH
From the Koran:

Sura 2: 85-88
We gave Moses the Book, and followed him up with a succession of Apostles; We gave Jesus the son of Mary; Clear signs and strengthened him with the holy spirit. Is it that whenever there comes to you an Apostles with what ye yourselves desire not, ye are puffed up with pride? Some ye called imposters, and others ye slay!

They say, "Our hearts are the wrappings which preserve God's Word: we need no more." Nay, God's curse is on them, for their blasphemy: Little is it they believe.

Sura 2: C-47
The people of Moses and the people of Jesus were given Revelations, but alas! They played false with their own lights, and, in their selfishness, made narrow God's universal message. To them it seemed incredible that His light should illuminate Arabia and reform the world. But His ways are wondrous! They are clear to those who have faith.

Indeed, in the very beginning of the Koran, God provides a very sharp rebuke of Christianity as we know it.

There are many Christians on this forum. Can at least one find an adequate response to the Koran?

If you are about to attack the personal integrity of Mohammed, remember that most of the Prophets of the Old Testament were seriously flawed, and King David himself was both an adulterer and a murderer. Christians believe that God works through flawed individuals.

I said he was smart. As I said, he incorporated Christianity to make himself more plausible. Couldn't deny the existence of Christ...so make him a prophet, and chide the church in your new holy book.

So, you think it is a conspiracy? Do I understand you correctly?

I still want to know how they got Mary, the mother of Jesus, down as the sister of Moses, Miriam. Maybe the names are the same in translation but still, we're talking hundreds of years apart.

Christians were informal in their religious practices, prior to persecution by Islam. It wasn't until Muslims began their encroachment that Christianity began to become centralized in Rome and Constantinople. Before that (and continuing, but in small pockets) Christianity was simply a personal religion, with no designated head other than our heavenly Father.

Because it is a personal religion and thus de-centralized, people tend to think of "Catholicism" and "Christianity" as one and the same thing. They aren't. Catholocism lacks the one basic precept that is integral to Christianity...the belief that all that is needed for salvation is grace, and grace comes only from God.

If you were born from 300 AD to 1600 AD, you would burn for that blasphemy, heretic! Consider yourself lucky.

Oh I know.

Lots of Baptists suffered that fate.

And lots of Christians suffered before the advent of Catholicism, as well.

The Catholic Church was officially established by the Council of Jerusalem under the lead of the first Pope, St. Peter, as described in the Acts of the Apostles.

Catholicism indeed finds itself at the very core of Christianity. This is why it was the Catholic Church that canonized the Bible.

Islam vs. Christianity?

I'm pretty sure that Mohammed could have kicked the stuffing out of that wimpy looking Jesus, plus, Mo had all those curved knives and shit.

Unlike Christianity, Islam actually resembles a continuation of the Jewish faith and the the will of the god of Abraham
You are 100% correct!!

The Quran is actually a book mainly about the Jews and Judiasm

Ya sunni, you're all reading a book about jews and loving every moment of it! :D
So why do you all want to wipe Israel off the map?
The Quran is much like the Bible.

Most of the main characters are Jews and takes place in a Jewish setting,

In Islam we are taught to respect the Torah and Judiasm.

We also believe in the Jewish prophets; and that includes Jesus and Mary.

The wipe Israel off the map is misunderstood in the West.

By "wipe off the map", we mean to erase the name Israel off the map and replace it with the name Palestine.

The Jews should be allowed to always live in Palestine, but not be the rulers of that nation.

And all the reasons killing them is justifiable.

Thus a true continuation of the Jewish tradition of conquest, racism, and genocide

because religious people don't acknowledge logical contradictions and rational arguments

The logic is pretty simple, actually.

According to Islam, the Jews f*cked up badly. They even killed Jesus.

This is why the Jews lost the divine right to rule the Holy Land, as symbolized by the destruction of the Temple of Solomon. Modern Israelis are directly contradicting the will of God by ruling Palestine, and thus every true believer must work to defeat the Israelis.

From the Muslim perspective, it makes sense.
