This July in Europe Intelligent Speed Assistance is becoming mandatory. I hadn't heard of this until seeing a story a few minutes ago about a state representative in California (who would have guessed) that wants to bring the system to his state. The system will automatically slow speeding cars through a sensor that reads speed limit signs.

I sure miss that 1969 Pontiac Catalina in which I learned how to drive. Especially over these past years when seeing Waymo cars on the road with their spinning sensors which always has me wondering how long before these gadgets become mandatory?
