Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes given the Catholic Priest's history on the subject.

Well, from 0-33 AD, Jesus Christ was the Word. It was his Church. It was still his Church for many years after until all the apostles were gone. Then, it fell into apostasy. It was restored again in 1830, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints and at the head of the Church is Jesus Christ.

Can't answer for the Catholic Church. I simply know what Jesus Christ's Church does.
