He is an emotional child, and an emotional child will lash out like this with zero understanding of a bigger picture. Even though he promised the judge not 24 hours earlier that he would not do this, he once again lost control of his emotions and did it.

I don't think he has any understanding of what he's doing. A child doesn't, not when in the adult world.
