Is this really what you voted for?

The democrats threw a fit cause they didnt get their way and you blame the republicans? Figures.
To be clear, Repubs are responsible for the loss of ACA subsidies. Dem's, and even some Repub's, are concerned about the consequences for their constituents. Cuz, you know, people get sick so having health insurance is a good thing. Or maybe you disagree.

The ACA is bottomless pit you throw money in. Illegals dont belong on Medicaid

They do this shutdown shit every couple or three years. Life goes on each time. I can't believe people keep falling for this year after year after year after year after year................................

Well, they're miserable, and there are voices they trust. So they just trust those voices to be honest with them about who has made them such victims.

Look at all the farmers who are suffering after voting for him. They're so deep in the ideology that they're not making the connection.
mac who are the voices you listen to?....

It's a question that could be asked about a variety of issues from the unjustified presence of troops on US city streets, to crypto currency profiteering, to pardons of J6 violent criminals, the examples are too numerous to list. Here's one pertaining to the shutdown.

These 6 Charts Explain Why Democrats Shut Down the Government

All the political skirmishing around the looming government shutdown has obscured the critical reason for it in the first place: Republicans have essentially stopped saying they want to repeal Obamacare, but quietly, they are doing exactly that.

Over the past nine months, Republicans have gone a long way toward dismantling key Obamacare provisions under the misleading guise of reforming or improving our health care system. As a result, more than 20 million Americans face higher insurance premiums next year. And almost 14 million Americans could lose their health insurance altogether over the next decade — an estimated 3.3 million in 2026 alone.

That’s more than 70 percent of those who gained coverage since Obamacare went into effect.

You may be forgiven for missing this headline. There wasn’t one. In 2016, Donald Trump ran on a promise to abolish the program and kept up his crusade throughout his first term, only to have the effort deep-sixed by Senator John McCain. This time around, Mr. Trump has rarely — if ever — mentioned the Affordable Care Act by name. Nor have his fellow Republicans.

But they never stopped trying.

Maybe a trump voter could explain why increasing health insurance premiums and taking away coverage for millions is such a priority? Especially in light of there being no replacement plan for the ACA.
I voted for Peanut the Squirrel who is giggling in his grave right now. That said, it is because the GOP is the party of political grievances and they wanted to undo one of the few things Biden had actually done. Trump didn't want them to go after medicaid, however. He just has no spine to stand up to his own party. Even he knows the expansion benefited a lot of working class conservatives.

ACA subsidies are still in place but Republicans are responsible for pulling the plug on the enhanced COVID era ACA subsidies. They are being pragmatic, realistic adults. Democrats are complaining because once they get a freebee, no matter the reason, they believe that freebee should be given in perpetuity. Maybe we should continue giving COVID stimulus checks? That would be no different than what the Democrats are attempting to keep in place for the ACA.

The Democrats want socialized medicine, in one form or another. The best they could do was O'Care, which went a couple of steps in. If they ever were to say "socialized medicine" out loud and put it up for a vote, it would be roundly defeated, which is why only cranks like Bernie Sanders say it.

But the basic truth is that Congress has no power to spend our tax dollars on healthcare (or housing, or food, or...you get the idea). Their "powers" are laid out in Article I, Section 8, and there is not even a hint that they can fund healthcare or partially fund healthcare, as is the current mode.

I challenge anyone reading this to find where Congress gets this power...and anyone using the words "general welfare," go to the back of the class and put on the dunce cap.

Healthcare is up to the States and the private sector. See the Tenth Amendment.

I honestly don't think most Americans are in favor of free health care for people who aren't even eligible to vote here.

President Trump got some new hats <snickering> hi cheese indeed. Looks like Diet Cokes all around.

They're thrilled. The more carnage, the better.

They're victims and they want revenge at any cost.

I don't think rest of us, across the political spectrum, have a full understanding of the rage under which these people are operating.

Rage, huh?

Funny shit from a Murder cult minion.

If we did not know before, we found out what a shill and political hack John McCain was. National health Insurance is a dialogue. However, as we know the costs will mushroom until limits on medical care are instituted.

Listen to how fucked up Trump is in the head. He saw a fake AI news piece with his daughter in law and himself promoting Medbed and he didn't realize it was fake.

It's him promoting healthcare for all. But it's fake healthcare. Conspiracy theories. Medbed will make you younger. Cure any sickness you got. THIS IS WHAT TRUMP wants to give us all!

But meanwhile, in the real world, he doesn't want to give poor people healthcare. He's even making cuts to poor people's healthcare. He's willing to shut the government down over it. All while reposting a fake news story that showed him wanting to give healthcare to all Americans.

Republican voters, including a lot of people I love, are really ******* stupid/stubborn/brainwashed.

LIAR all he is doing is letting stuff that was JUST for Covid problems expire and removing illegals from our medical rolls.

Is this how you recommend a Repub should respond to constituents who will no longer be able to afford health insurance?

"My adult pragmatism is making health insurance unaffordable for you but look on the bright side, millionaires are getting a tax break."

I honestly don't think most Americans are in favor of free health care for people who aren't even eligible to vote here.
And that has what to do with the loss of subsidies for people with ACA plans?
