A cat? Yea, I've seen video of cats coming to the rescue against dogs. But they don't make good alarms.

Don't kid yourself. My parents had a cat and when my father had a heart attack in 1990, the cat ran upstairs, got her attention, took her to him downstairs and saved his life.
