Only if you are not a democrat. Democrats can be screaming and they are not yelling, according to them, anyone else that speaks above normal conversation is a damn screamer, according to the democrats.

Exactly. I am a high school teacher who never yells or raises her voice (well almost never). Yet a stern look or an angry tone will send some kids into a tizzy saying "Why are yelling at me?" It's ridiculous.

I think to YOU, you're not yelling you're just being enthusiastic.

To your listener, you're yelling at them.

I am so guilty of this in real life.

That's actually one of the reasons I enjoy posting in places like this.

Here my tone and volume of voice doesn't confuse the reader and make them think I'm angry with them.

I've found that it can lead to yelling as each party adjusts the volume a little bit higher. If one side can't tone it down a notch or three, one raised voice becomes two.
