Americans' political party preferences shifted to Republicans in recent months

More Americans identify as Republicans or lean towards the GOP than prefer Democrats, according to new Gallup data. The shift could portend good news for Republicans in this midterm election year.

Which is good news -- because this means Republicans don't have to try to find ways to nullify elections and figure out ways of just having state legislatures choose what candidate wins or not...

Now, they can just win elections the old-fashion way...by getting more votes than the opponent....radical concept -- but not so scary when you know you have more people voting Republican than Democrat....

I've seen polling at different levels of support. The core is the 33% that have always supported trump.

That core 33% wanted a Muslim registry, they wanted a total shut down of immigration, etc, etc, etc -- none of that happened because none of it was supported by the majority of Republican voters...

However, something as unsustainable as the big lie has been able to make prominent Republicans across the country behave cultish like in support of it....which tells me it is far more than 33%.....

That 33% may be the most rabid -- but there is another 33% who would be more than OK with using the big lie to overturn any election they lose
