Is MAGA capable of responding to a moment like this?

Do you think the precepts of christianity are a mystery to those outside of participation in organized religion?
Nope... but those with a reasonably-solid understanding in this sphere usually have an upbringing in such traditions.

Much of The Left is clue-less when it comes to Christianity, although much of its leadership has such an upbringing.

Rendering them the cynical types who try to leverage the knowledge of such matters to attain wrong-headed outcomes.

Leftist leadership tries to manipulate others through that old knowledge... clue-less Leftist rank-and-file parrot their leaders.

Non-Leftists... in the US, oftentimes practicing Christians... need to remain on-guard against such cynical attempts at manipulation.

...Liberals more often than not live lives closer to the teaching of the messiah than conservatives...
In some focal areas, Yes... in other focal areas, No... not even close... and it's all a matter of perspective...

Once upon a time, and not so long ago, I used to believe in the moral superiority of Liberals...

But I grew out of it... and had that ever-popular "V8-Moment" when I realized that BOTH sides had some righteous positions.

Evidence of that having been splashed all over this thread by conservative's regard for money over human life.
Nonsense.

The United States has given more to the poor of this world in the past eighty years than any other country on Earth.

We have taxed ourselves into the ground, for both defense AND for foreign aid, and we can no longer sustain that.

You-and-yours insisting that we continue down the path of Financial Suicide prizes the Foreigner above your Fellow Countrymen.

That is now being brought to an end.

Regrettable but necessary at the present time.

And you-and-yours throwing rocks at the people making hard-but-necessary decisions is both irresponsible and juvenile.

Not really startling and not just one group. Its all.

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;"

2 Thessalonians 2:3
I don't wish to insult your beliefs, but I don't believe in a punishment in a fictitious afterlife for what one did during their life.

Nope... but those with a reasonably-solid understanding in this sphere usually have an upbringing in such traditions.
Am I to think you believe one has to be brought up learning jeeezus was the son of god to live a moral life? How presumptuous.

In the spring of 1954, McCarthy picked a fight with the U.S. Army, charging lax security at a top-secret army facility. The army responded that the senator had sought preferential treatment for a recently drafted subcommittee aide. Amidst this controversy, McCarthy temporarily stepped down as chairman for the duration of the three-month nationally televised spectacle known to history as the Army-McCarthy hearings.

The army hired Boston lawyer Joseph Welch to make its case. At a session on June 9, 1954, McCarthy charged that one of Welch's attorneys had ties to a Communist organization. As an amazed television audience looked on, Welch responded with the immortal lines that ultimately ended McCarthy's career: "Until this moment, Senator, I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness." When McCarthy tried to continue his attack, Welch angrily interrupted, "Let us not assassinate this lad further, senator. You have done enough. Have you no sense of decency?"

Overnight, McCarthy's immense national popularity evaporated.
Censured by his Senate colleagues, ostracized by his party, and ignored by the press, McCarthy died three years later, 48 years old and a broken man.

Not to say trump's national popularity is immense. Far from it. But it is within MAGA. As if it is oblivious to what is happening around us.
USAID cuts have caused more than 330,000 deaths worldwide, BU professor estimates

There will be no nationally televised events during which trump will be required to defend decisions resulting in the deaths of thousands of human beings. No pointed questions about sending immigrants off to a foreign gulag to be tortured after denying them their constitutional rights. No poignant moments questioning his decency. The nation could really use a moment like that. Frankly, today, I don't think it's possible.

BTW, I was reminded of Joseph Welch's moment of moral clarity while watching this excellent Netflix special, which is worth watching.

MCcarthy was correct and right on the money. He had more of a sense of decency than any of his detractors.

A sense of decency would drive one to try and protect ones nation from hundreds of traitors and spies for enemt nations and that is what he was doing.

His detractors wanted to turn a blind eye to such damage and treason.

Ameriucans are sick of importing the third world into the US and bringing the third world with them, Sending them back is decent

Americans are tired of spending billions for people the world obver who basically hate us. Decency is keeping our money here and letting them fix their own problems WHICH THEY CAN

Most human beings who subscribe to His teachings fall very, very far short of attaining such an existence...
Of course. But they don't go out of their way to violate those teachings as trump has. With the support of his party I might add.

America first means Americans first. People starve all over the world every day.

World starvation is not our problem. Donate all of your money if its that important to you.

A better question is how many deaths were caused by USAID's corruption.

I'm happy cutting spending and closing in on a balanced budget.
IS this a healthy reply? ME ME ME, and the hell with the Whole world.
The World we Now live in???

There's always one.
More than one

What I stated was accurate and factually correct. Over the years we have many new details about the McCarthy era which prove conclusively that the commonnarrative is false

Clearly that is the narrative you are programmed with and have not bothered to correct.

When he called attention to security problems at Ft Monmouth he was right on the money. They had a massive leak problem with informatiionand documents flowing the the USSR in vast amounts due to spies within the Armies signal corps. He was trying to correct that

Explain how THAT is indecent??????????????????????

What I stated was accurate and factually correct.
Dude. Joe was a drunken demagogue who unnecessarily ruined many lives. Your affection for him speaks volumes.

Of course. But they don't go out of their way to violate those teachings as trump has. With the support of his party I might add.
Oh, give it a rest... generally speaking, the Democrats are ALSO very far from the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth.

Wrong

He did no such thing. You cannot name a sigle INNOCENT life he ruinede. You are ignorant uninformed and uneducated.

He drankl lile any senator less than any of the senators named kennedy

USAID cuts have caused more than 330,000 deaths worldwide
OMG, well cancel your internet service and sell all your belongings and give your money to the poor. You don't want people dying to be on your hands do you? Lead by example, or you are FAKE NEWS.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at all the America Firsters in this thread slamming the trade system America designed and benefited from, which gave America the largest gdp.

We already had the largest GDP and it wasn't because of the "trade system".
