It's pretty clear now that their are serious Christians and MAGA Christiansâ„¢. Two different groups.
The first group is simply horrified. The second has sold its soul to a con man who is essentially the opposite of the Jesus they claim to follow.
In truth, there are very few "full-fledged Christians" on the planet...
The teachings of Jesus of Nazareth leave no room for wealth accumulation nor borders nor war nor neglect of the poor, etc..
Those teachings are a very high bar indeed...
Most human beings who subscribe to His teachings are more practical creatures and hardly ever attain His level of Right Living...
Most human beings who subscribe to His teachings fall very, very far short of attaining such an existence...
That includes those from both sides of that artificial "divide" that you mention above...
It's just a matter of degree...
The one group may be "horrified" but their horror is itself limited and self-serving in nature and has lost the moral high ground...
The other group may have subordinated itself to a relative strong-man politician but they've hardly "sold their souls" to the guy...
They... like so many... are willing to "look the other way" in a half-dozen focal areas so long as they keep getting what they want...
An all-too-human characteristic and an all-too-understandable part of the political life of ANY organized collection of people...
Not to worry... the worst of it will pass soon enough... and with far less damage than the sky-is-falling types would have us believe...
