Matthew 4:
5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’
and,
‘In
their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”
7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not [
a]tempt the
Lord your God.’ ”
John 8:
57 Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”
58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was,
I AM.”
59 Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going[
a] through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Luke 5:
23 Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk’? 24 But that you may know that the
Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”
25 Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.
In all of these, Jesus clearly claimed to be God. He used the actual term when confronting the devil as He was being tempted. The Jews very certainly remembered that God called Himself, "I AM" when talking to Moses, and the Jews also understood that only God has the power to forgive sin. There can be no doubt that Jesus claimed to be God. Please show me the translations that you claim are unaltered that do not have these. Also, these came from the New King James version, and the King James version is widely accepted as one of the most faithful to the original Hebrew and Greek. If you insist, I'll be glad to show you the same verses from the original King James, which, as you know, is not a modern translation at all.
