The reason the country is so bitterly divided is because the President and federal government have too much power. The only election that matters to people is who is President. That simply should not be.

You have conservative states and liberal states, with half the country being one or the other that wants to secede from the union every time their man is not elected for President

That also should not be.

Now imagine a country where those states could govern how they see fit 24/7 and then sit back and see which philosophy works best, rather than demand all the eggs be placed in the same basket, win, lose, or draw, with no conclusions on which philosophies work best?

What I'd like to see is a party that's priority is communication, collaboration and innovation. Not partisan slant.
