Milley isn't having his "character" assassinated at all. He's just being called out for giving aid and comfort to the enemy and picking sides against his own nation and his own commander-in-chief. The fact that he is "decorated" and was awarded the Good Conduct medal just doesn't change the fact, just like it didn't with Timothy McVeigh.

Whether Trump is wrong or right, being in the military is about taking orders. This is where Milley failed.
He thought he was a policy maker, when he was just a soldier sent out to do or die.
If Patton had called the German High Command in 1944 to give them the details on the time and place of the Normandy invasion, it would have been the same thing, even if Patton only wanted to make the battle as fair as possible.
