While we've seen some of this before in world history, there are a couple of qualities to this that seem new, and make this even more destructive.

First is the mal-information they receive in a constant stream and believe without question. And second is this joy in cruelty. How aggrieved can everyday people be to get so much happiness from it? While there may be some historical comparison for it, I can't think of it.

This is a fuckin' rage, it's not slowing down at all, and they want anyone not on board to feel it. I just don't get it.

I wouldn't put a lot of stock in what some "poll of Americans" says. The majority of John Q Public can barely run their own lives.

I understand your point , what became the biggest point of fact to me is the realization that we had such hate and stupidity in this country. Did some research on this you might want to follow up on , Red states are made up of the worst education systems in this country and by all standard they have achieved their goal, red states across the board have the most stupid people. that just stupid , there isn't enough socialism in this country to fill a thimble, The only way these stupid people can make the socialism charge work for them is by defining what it means themselves , but socialism already has a definition and that definition says theirs is stupid. There are few tenets of socialism, there is one that is literally needed to have it be socialism ,it's the means of production is owned by the state and the sale of that production is designated to the state. , capitalism is the only way but if you take away the main tenet of capitalism, being that it offers the promise of the potential to get ahead it can be brought down and there is only one group that is doing that and that is the right wing with it's trickle down lie economics. That was Reagan lie in 1981 and for the next 35 years all the new wealth of this country went to the golden few at the top. taking away totally the incentive to get ahead.

If you actually looked closely at that post, or go to that thread, you would notice that dates on those polls. They are all within the last two or three days. Likewise, most of those commentators, in their analysis of the several states, take into account several different polling outfits.

You clearly did not look into that data very closely.
