Freshman Senate Dems and House Republicans to on bipartisan ACA plan

Two Senate Democrats and two House Republicans are planning to huddle Friday over a possible bipartisan plan to extend soon-to-expire Obamacare subsidies, according to four people with direct knowledge of the matter.

Centrist Senate Democrats are working feverishly to hammer out an ACA framework in more detail to give Democrats an off-ramp to vote to reopen the government.

Can a solution be found despite Don's efforts to keep the government shut down? Even if congressional Repub's and Dem's reach a compromise will he sign off on it?

I don't know. But it's encouraging to see some discussion going on.

Senate Democrats are working to reach agreement on a bipartisan ACA extension plan that GOP leaders would agree to hold a vote on once the shutdown is over. And, if that plan gets 60 votes in the Senate, a swath of House Republicans will then press Speaker Mike Johnson to put it on the House floor.

Hmmm. That would appear to make claims Dem's are offering no proposals, as many trumples here have claimed, to be nonsense.

I wouldn't count on any breakthroughs. The Dems are flush with victory after their Communists and would be Kill A Republican guy won so they have no reason to make a deal that should have been made a month ago. They're convinced their incredibly stupid idea actually was really smart.

I say there is a lot of GOP members who know that putting large costs on US public by defunding Health Insurance is a death nail...
They want to leave it in but don't want the wrath of the President... They want to vote for it without seeming to vote for it...

Democrats have got the message, Fight... Their supports have said and end to the capitulation to madness... You can't compromise that much with madness...

GOP have no healthcare plan... No they don't even have a concept unless that concept is, Don't get Sick.... Saving Plans are a joke, it is not insurance...
GOP is being held together by massively partisan Fox News which is becoming more and more, out of touch. I saw a focus group being berated by a the Moderator when an Independent said that Inflation is a problem and one Trump is failing to address. She just blamed Biden even though Inflation is higher today than last year...

We do know that the inflation in 2021 and 2022 was caused (according to the World Bank) by increased Oil Prices which was connected to the Oil Supply restriction deal Trump pushed into in April 2020...

I tend to agree. Dem's are willing negotiating partners but His Orangeness is not.

Maybe if congressional Repub's were to get a meeting with Don where they could make some sort of offering something could be worked out. Like a proclamation stating Don is the greatest and most powerful leader ever. Or give him a golden Septor he can wave around. Then maybe he'd allow millions of people to be able to afford healthcare insurance.

The Dems aren't willing to negotiate shit.
Once again you've chosen ignorance over knowledge. A habit all too many trumples routinely engage in.

As an alternative, four other people with direct knowledge of internal party strategy say a handful of House Republicans are privately indicating a willingness to eventually support a Democratic-led discharge petition on a measure to extend the subsidies — a procedural maneuver allowing rank-and-file members to force a vote on legislation without leadership’s blessing.

Go piss up a rope.
The Dems have pulled off the most childish temper tantrum I've ever watched in fifty years. It's a party of Far Left pussies, nothing more.

I could careless if it ever reopens.

Cut the debt ceiling off and return the issues to the States
Interesting. Being in favor of anarchy and a global depression is a bold choice.

BS. It means the debt ceiling raises are done and we must live within our means
You said..."I could careless if it ever reopens."

That's a recipe for disaster on a global scale.

No it is not. Its not shut down.

Money is coming in and mandatory spending is going out. Small areas are unfunded

These can be taken over by the states or airlines can pay the controllers

Preposterous nonsense spewed form board stain of the worst kind.

It started as a 2mo...CR. not a negotiation on a 10 yr spending plan for LGBTQ and ACA supplumental pay and free medical for illegals re-branded.

Don't negotiate with children or terrorists. Both in this case.

Just have to ask, why do you folks keep repeating the lie about ACA and illegals?
