Is a retroactive, dubiously legal justification for extra legal killings a thing?

Well, you all are 1 for one on that so...go ahead and poke that bear and get another lunatic ruled up enough to put a bullet in someone else.

So, most of the people who are addicted to drugs are addicted because of big pharmacy executives??

because people from both sides like that money.

Did the courts adjudicate that the fine was necessary punishment? I happen to agree the sandwich issue was overblown. He certainly should have been charged with bacon abuse though!

If that agent had been quicker, he could have caught that sandwich and said "thanks for lunch, *****!".

You're conflating two issues. The cancer charity issue is a court battle, you throw something at a law enforcement officer, youre probably going to get tackled. Food for thought..dont throw stuff at agents.

I can't believe were arguing about how to curtail the drug epidemic in the US. So, you are saying American executives are to blame so, we should go after them as opposed to the drug cartels? Ok, let's flip that around, gun makers didnt create the murder culture, they just filled the vacuum, so why are we going after gun makers?

You're going to take drug cartels from other countries to court? How are we going to get them here? Would they even care? Who's going to enforce the fine?
I urge you to see “dopesick”

Yes… Perdue pharma and the Sacklers created this opioid epidemic

Nope.

If there was justice, they would all be sitting in prison for the rest of their lives right now.

Let me get your head straight, son.

If someone shot Putin, I would not shed a tear. If someone shot the Sacklers, I would not shed a tear. If this was 1939 and someone shot Hitler, I would not shed a tear.

You see, we have a two-tier justice system in America. If you are billionaire-rich fromm ill-gotten gains, you will never feel the cold steel of handcuffs, no matter what crimes you commit.

If you throw a sandwich at some Gestapo goons, Dear Leader will stomp you under his jackboots.

We have brought cartel members in other countries to justice here in the US before. Like I said, I played a small part in bringing one of them here from Colombia.

If we can go ALLLLLL the way to Colombia to haul a ******* criminal back here, we surely could have hauled the Sacklers into criminal court.

And you should be asking yourself why that is, and why billionaire club member Donald Trump did not do that.

Do you know what "crime" the Sacklers were charged with?

NOTHING.

Their corporation was charged though. Because corporations are people, too, doncha know. We just haven't figured out how to send and LLC to prison.

Now get this.

Get this.

Do you know what federal crime the company which created the opioid epidemic was charged with?

You're not going to believe me.

Purdue was charged with...

...DECEPTIVE MARKETING.

Why didn't Trump blow them up like he did that boat?

Hmmm...

Billionaires stick together. That's why. Even if it kills YOU.

.

No. Wrong.

Purdue STARTED in the 90s, and continued for DECADES.

You don't create an opioid epidemic this big overnight. It literally takes decades.

I did not call him a terrorist. That's a lie.

He did not observe due process, but when has he ever, really?

I just think if it is okay to blow up a boatload of drug smugglers, then maybe the creators of this problem deserve the same.

You know how to deal with it? Trump doesn't, obviously.

You don't tell homeless people who are mostly mentally ill and drug addicts to get off the street yet not provide them a place to go.

You don't defund treatment centers and mental hospitals.

You don't go on Fox News and say the homeless should all be executed by lethal injection. Where is your moral outrage there? You shed tears for the monsters who created this mess, yet live in a MAGA world where one of your propagandists feels comfortable enough to suggest executing the homeless.

The answer is harm reduction and treatment centers. As much as it takes. We've had drug epidemics before and that is how we got them under control.

Trump prefers to just blow shit up and execute the symptoms rather than treat the disease.

Because he is an idiot. Always an idiot in all things.

.
The above rhetoric is from an alleged conservative.

Credible?

Trump ‘Determined’ the U.S. Is Now in a War With Drug Cartels, Congress Is Told

President Trump has decided that the United States is engaged in a formal “armed conflict” with drug cartels his team has labeled terrorist organizations and that suspected smugglers for such groups are “unlawful combatants,” the administration said in a confidential notice to Congress this week.

The notice was sent to several congressional committees and obtained by The New York Times. It adds new detail to the administration’s thinly articulated legal rationale for why three U.S. military strikes the president ordered on boats in the Caribbean Sea last month, killing all 17 people aboard them, should be seen as lawful rather than murder.

Mr. Trump’s move to formally deem his campaign against drug cartels as an active armed conflict means he is cementing his claim to extraordinary wartime powers, legal specialists said. In an armed conflict, as defined by international law, a country can lawfully kill enemy fighters even when they pose no threat, detain them indefinitely without trials and prosecute them in military courts.

Memo to Congress.........."Oh, by the way, those dead Venezuelans I ordered to be killed without any evidence that's been presented to you or anyone else, it's okay cuz I unilaterally decided it's okay. Pay no attention to this guy."

Geoffrey S. Corn, a retired judge advocate general lawyer who was formerly the Army’s senior adviser for law-of-war issues, said drug cartels were not engaged in “hostilities” — the standard for when there is an armed conflict for legal purposes — against the United States because selling a dangerous product is different from an armed attack.

Any active JAG or IG of a similar opinion will just be fired so no worries.

Your support for the drug cartels is noted.

Well maybe go look at the google machine because it will tell you the causes of the drug epidemic and big pharma doesn't seem to be on the list. I'm sure that some people were addicted to drugs because of things like oxycontin, but the vast majority of people who have a drug addiction problem are not that way because of prescription drugs that they got addicted to.

You base that on what?

...As they should be due to gross incompetence because it is based on the false premise that drug dealers cannot engage in hostilities.

Just go to websites like watchpeopledie .tv or GoreDB .com if you want to see the very graphic uncensored pictures and videos of drug cartels engaging in hostilities. There's a lot of that. Gore websites love the drug cartels.

Drug cartels are the most violent, hostile and just plain sick motherfuckers on the planet. You don't even see the Muzzies or the Russians doing that kind of sick perverted sadistic torture, rape, murder and cannibalism.
Do you ever consider for a moment when you see the comments of someone who, as a former JAG, understands the law as it pertains to trump having smugglers killed in international waters that he's right?

I don't think you do. I think you begin with the premise Dear Leader is right in everything he does. Which, given his propensity for committing illegal acts, is just nuts.

**** off, lame brained idiot.

The expert guy you quoted claimed that because the cartels sell drugs, they can't be hostile. He's ******* wrong. His logic fails. You may be too stupid to understand why his logic fails, but I'm not.

That is like saying that if the Russians invaded New York, it would not be considered a hostile action, as long as they brought some drugs with them.

Piss off, moron.

:auiqs.jpg:

Where is the due process when some dumb teenager pops a pill and dies of fentanyl poisoning ?
Wanting to get back at drug smugglers because of the awful things illegal drugs do to people is not the same as having a legal justification for killing them.........so far without evidence.

BTW, even if the regime had provided evidence the people trump had killed were in fact smugglers there is still no legal justification for executing them in boats.

Does "extra-legal killings" mean they are really, really legal?

Really!

There's been a war on poverty for decades, too. That's why Trump and the Republicans are trying to kill poor people.
The poor who live in democrat cities are killing each other and we both know who they are blacks. Add abortions and murder and we have the democrats way to control population

Calm down. I know you are nervous about that bomb attached to your head but consider that the guy with a law degree, a professional in his field of expertise, knows more about this than an ignorant grunt like you.

Because distribution of drugs ( as heinous as it is) is not a capital crime.

That Trump is having people killed for crimes that a court would never issue the death sentence for… is chilling

Cities don't vote; however, people who live in cities vote. Here in the rural areas, the red voters do illegal drugs just like the blue voters do in big cities....
