iraq needs an international effort

The US needs to hand over Iraq to the UN, or make some kind of move to give up control of the region. with a larger international force in iraq, it will become the burden of many rather than the burden of th US...

if we were truly in there for 'liberation', and 'freedom', why don't we give that to them?

from croatia backing out today to the Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Husseini al-Sistani boycotting the iraqi constituion, our current stranglehold is just not working.

Nah. Too many cooks spoil the soup. A thousand things overwhelm the senses. The five flavors dull the tongue.

Maybe you forgot, spilly, the UN was there, right after the US-led coalition kicked out Saddam Hussein. A homicide bomber sent the UN delegation running.

And if you didn't notice, we are attempting to reestablish self-rule (as opposed to UN rule) by the end of June.

I think we should not hand Iraq over to the mostly worthless UN. What I think would be much better is a joint UN-US venture.

All i have ot say about the UN being responsible for nation building is Sommalia.
