there was a gap of 18 months between 9/11 and the launch of the Iraq War, if Iraq was really a threat to America, there would have been a rush to war, and the gap would be 18 days, if not 18 minutes, if not 18 seconds, not 18 months

 
What's interesting about this one is that some people would be 'getting it' so many years later!

No clue given on what the book is trying to say.

Could it be an attempt to turn everything we know and knew even before the invasion of Iraq, to stop unfavourably comparisons of America's war crimes with Russia's war crimes?

Iraq is certainly something that America has to pretend didn't happen!

Why do we have to pretend that? Most Americans don't know what happened or how it started.
