Iran war updates: Trump says he's hearing supreme leader is 'not alive'; Israel launches new wave of strikes
A large blast rocked Tehran on Friday as President Trump referred to Iranian leaders as "deranged scumbags" and said the war would be over "when I feel it in my bones."
"Iran has stepped up retaliatory strikes across the Middle East, firing on Bahrain, Kuwait and Israel and threatening to plunge the region into a prolonged war."
I have watched a couple of YouTube videos (which makes me an expert, right?) about Muslim/Middle-Eastern culture, and the consensus seems to be that a huge difference between Western Culture and what we see and hear in the Middle East is the significance of statements. What we would call "lying" is simply normal meaningless communication in that culture. Here we have someone supposedly threatening Iran's adversaries - which Iran itself is adding daily - with a prolonged war.
What? They have no leadership, are losing their major weapon systems daily, and are quickly running out of what is traditionally thought of as "ammunition." Their people are demanding the overthrow of the government and it has no "legitimacy" as we would see it in the West.
And they are threatening to fight all adversaries in a prolonged war.
We in the West must learn that they do not mean what they say. How can you negotiate with such an adversary? They make commitments that they have no intention of meeting, because this was how their great prophet conducted his own affairs. If was OK to lie and make false promises if it gave you the upper hand in the end. And Leftist Administrations in the U.S. based our policies on the assumption that the Iranians were going to meet their commitments and not "cheat." How stupid do you have to be?
Interestingly, we are hearing similar kinds of communications from Democrats in our own country. Schumer just says nonsense constantly, with a straight face. Pelosi did the same, as does Jeffries. How can you negotiate with such people?
