Iran declared war on the United States 47 years ago. Arguably, it is the longest-running irregular conflict against America in its history. In all of history no government, tribe, or group of any kind has ever been as much of a threat to the entire world as is Iran. We're talking about people whose goal is to SPREAD their ideology (masquerading as a religion), to the point of complete world domination. Where every person would be a Muslim.

With the possession of nuclear weapons these lunatics could eventually kill all of the 6.3 Billion non-Muslims in the world.

Would it matter if Iran (the IRGC) was "moments" away from having nuclear bombs, or if in 6 or 8 months, they could have them ? Either scenario is reason enough to attack Iran's capability to produce nukes, and that would be even if regime change occurs.

There is really nothing that says the Iranian civilian sector could not produce these nukes, and use them against the USA, completely outside of the Iranian government.
