Two of the pipelines, which were known collectively as Nord Stream 1, had been providing Germany and much of Western Europe with cheap Russian natural gas for more than a decade. A second pair of pipelines, called Nord Stream 2, had been built but were not yet operational. Now, with Russian troops massing on the Ukrainian border and the bloodiest war in Europe since 1945 looming, President Joseph Biden saw the pipelines as a vehicle for Vladimir Putin to weaponize natural gas for his political and territorial ambitions.

I think we all agree that Biden is a horrible human being and one of the 2-3 worst American presidents ever. But I have to wonder about this move. Someone made the decision to do this. Why? Biden's lucid intervals are becoming farther and farther apart. Was this supposed to be some sort of move on Putin? It seems to me that it hurts Europe pretty badly. Plus, why is the Biden people committing acts of terror in international waters? That is not ok. If this was a smack against Putin over Ukraine, it obviously did nothing on that front.
