. no rolling blackouts when I lived there
I'm from L.A. I love the desert Riverside and east, but the cities are a joke. The politics are a joke. Looking to leave when I find a new job, which will be soon.
As far as the nazi sign. I have no problem with it, but it’s needs rebranding. Just like southerners need to find a new flag other than the confederacy. Why? Because most people are drones who believe the Hollywood versions of Germany and the South. Remember, it was Patton who commented on Germany when he said, “We fought the wrong enemy.”
It’s really ironic that German filmmaking is so far above Hollywood tripe. Check out the clip from the German movie Look Who’s Back (in the video below). It’s a drama-comedy-satire about what happens when Hitler awakens in the 21st century. The film is interspersed with the lead actor (Oliver Masucci as Hitler) walking about Brandenburg and other places.
The following video is three minutes from the German movie Look Who's Back. This video has been banned on Youtube.
Wow .. How long do they usually last, just wondering. I lived in California for over 40 years and other than weather related power outages (snow) I can’t recall any.I went through about 7 of them in a year and a half.
Anyone interested in an introductory thread for all? Just a place where you can tell as much or as little about yourself.
I was born in Indio California, but too young to remember growing up there. I’ve been back twice.
California has always intrigued me. It always felt like home. It has diverse landscapes, great farming of all kinds, and quite possibly the most beautiful and diverse women on earth. It has, unfortunately, been marred by bad politics.
I wonder what it would have been like to visit there before 1849. Even the bay area must have been cool for miners and ranchers to visit on weekends.
More later. Anyone else?

The snow was when we moved to Lake County.Usually for hours. I never saw any snow in the Bay area. When was that? I never saw it eveng et close to freezing.

Right, and you won't tell us what it signifies, either. Silence is as golden as rat piss.
I’ve asked him. He won’t answer. That’s ok. But if he replies to you we don’t know what he said. And, frankly, even if he provides you with some innocuous explanation, it remains an open question if he told you the truth. What you and others don't know is that I have talked to Jack about his avatar. Maybe you should try doing so without attacking him.
Just so you know, USMB does not have a rule banning swastikas. If we were to start banning things some people dislike or don't associate with, the list of things NOT banned would be extremely short.
Meanwhile, none of us know why he would select the symbol on the flag of Nazi Germany as an avie. And let’s be honest. It is a disgraceful image.
Well .. it certainly draws attention ..I’ve asked him. He won’t answer. That’s ok. But if he replies to you we don’t know what he said. And, frankly, even if he provides you with some innocuous explanation, it remains an open question if he told you the truth.

Actually, I believe the angled bend is different in the NAZI swastika.Well .. it certainly draws attention ..
In origin .. Sanskrit .. it meant good fortune and well being..
.
Good point.. so .. a reminder of hell on earth then..Actually, I believe the angled bend is different in the NAZI swastika.
His version is clearly lifted from the swastika flag of Nazi Germany.

Guys in Florida like to brag about the bigger largemouth than in places like Alabama. I would guess they are on average bigger, but I wouldn't guess how much. But when they brag, I remind them that the world record largemouth was caught in Georgia. Otoh, the biggest smallmouth was caught in Dale Hollow. That ain't the L.A. from 'round heanh, boy.
'Round heanh L.A. stands for Lower Alabama. Meh, where the fishin' is OK I reckon, but not as good as points south. It's fairly unpopulated.
Can't say I care much for California. Though I've never been there. But I do know that much of it is desert. And it is prone to Earthquakes. That aside, I would imagine it is a good place to view sunsets at. Maybe if you have the money, enjoying sunsets from your back porch could make up for everything else. Also, I admire your choice of an avatar. Because it takes some balls to post an avatar like that. And I admire courage. It is something severely lacking in our society. Another thing is that I have been through the portal to the land of reality. Anybody who has done so wouldn't be offended by your avatar.
It's interesting how these two posts were made just 5 minutes apart.well ....uh ... not really. one that posts on a message board with zero repercussions because of anonymity is the antithesis of courage.

There's the whole industrialized farming debate in that Jack , even they've turned around to foist anti biotic hormone free fare , etc....I buy pork from a pig farmer. The farmer is a nice guy with decent prices. His wife homeschools 5 or 6 of their kids. She's always in a hurry, but very very polite.
