In The Bible Genesis An Account Of Nature. Right?
Is it or is it not an account of nature? Give me your description of the natural world based only the Bible. Was the Universe created in six days? In the Book of Revelations, will the stars fall out of the sky?
These are serious questions. Why? Because people of religious faith have been trying and in some cases succeeding in deciding what kids learn in schools.
Genesis was never about the Big Bang, the creation of the solar system, the earth, or the first plants, animals, and human beings. How could it be? It is a metaphorical account of when Light was
spoken into existence when the world was without shape or form, (lawless), and void (pointless) and darkness ( superstition, ignorance) covered the face of the deep,(the unknown)
God said "let there be light" and the law was given, through Moses, as a light to the nations.
When Adam was asked to name the other creatures (people) that God also created they were called wild beasts, serpents, cattle, sheep, wolves, swine, THAT DO NOT RUMINATE, etc, etc., just like people have been doing in every language and nation ever since people could talk.
When the children of Adam and Eve wanted to find a mate, THEY WENT TO A CITY.
It amounts to a fairy tale, a warning to children about the danger of losing your mind for life to cultic practices, sorcery, what is now known as mind control. The talking serpent was a direct reference to the Pharaoh who wore a serpent on his headdress "beguiling" the gullible into swallowing, without thinking, what they already know is
bullshit which is the forbidden fruit.
The moral; If you fill your head with lies, your mind will be defiled and contaminated and you will lose your sanity and awareness for life, running around completely naked among the wild beasts of the field, always on the prowl for prey in the dark wilderness, east of eden, peace and sanity.
If they want to teach that, why not?
