NATO is a defensive organization, not an alliance looking to attack anyone. The idea that NATO is some warmongering entity couldn't be further from the truth—if anything, they lean toward diplomacy and deterrence rather than outright aggression.

I understand that frustration with those who manipulate the Constitution and law for political purposes can push people toward opposing viewpoints, but siding with Putin isn't the solution. In the end, you'd only find yourself under Russian control, stripped of any real freedom.

NATO took no action in Yugoslavia. Some nations supported one side of the civil war (the Croats) while Russia supported the other (the Serbs) which was committing genocide. Milosevic, the President of Serbia was arrested after the war and prosecuted for war crimes and genocide but died before the trial could end.

Maybe it is too top heavy. But if we ever had to engage in an actual war, that would change quickly enough. Also, if you are going to start cutting officers from the ranks, you start with the officers you don't need. Rather than the way that Putin would like it to be. Which is to get rid of your top and most experienced officers first.
