What would the Democrats have to gain "by "derailing" the campaign of Herman Cain - a candidate that the November polls show that Obama would defeat by an average of 10.2%?

If the Democrats had intended to use the sexual harrassment settlements to "conspire" against Cain, they would have waited until the 2012 General Election, where it would have had the greatest impact.

History shows that the source of "leaks" prior to the national conventions usually come from within one's own party - if there was a conspiracy of "white people," Tank should start looking within the Republican/Tea Party!

Well, most of his supporters were white to; something around 90 percent of such. So it works both ways!. Maybe there were a few like me that wish's for a first world civilization far into the future that could of done it, but hey, looking at the general love affair of the republican party with Cain, I doubt it would of had much of affect. As we don't make up more then a few percent tops. I'm thinking it had something to do with Cains past actions with harrassing woman that caught up with him???
