There is a difference, not that I don't agree with you that billionaires donate to Dems as well....That's both parties. They are both in the pockets of billionaires. It's crazy to me how many of you still believe either of them are fighting for you. They both have their billionaire donors and special interests groups funneling billions to them.
President Joe Biden did not appoint any billionaires to his Cabinet or senior administration. While some officials and high-ranking ambassadors were multi-millionaires, the administration's collective Cabinet net worth was estimated at around $118 million, with no single member holding a net worth reaching $1 billion.
Vs.
Donald Trump’s second administration (which began in January 2025) is widely recognized as the wealthiest presidential administration in modern U.S. history. He has tapped an unprecedented 13 billionaires for various Cabinet positions, high-level administrative posts, and ambassadorships.
If you count the broader administration alongside the formal Cabinet, the primary billionaires include:
Elon Musk & Vivek Ramaswamy – Co-leads of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) (an advisory role rather than an official federal agency).
Linda McMahon – Secretary of Education (family wealth built from WWE).
Howard Lutnick – Secretary of Commerce (financial services executive).
Doug Burgum – Secretary of the Interior (software entrepreneur).
Scott Bessent – Secretary of the Treasury (hedge fund manager).
Kelly Loeffler – Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA).
Jared Isaacman – NASA Administrator (tech and aerospace entrepreneur).
Charles Kushner – Ambassador to France (real estate tycoon).
Warren Stephens – Ambassador to the United Kingdom (investment banking).
(Note: During Trump's first term from 2017 to 2021, he also appointed several billionaires or family-wealth billionaires to his Cabinet, including Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross).
