CDC: At Least 20 Million Americans Have Had Coronavirus. Here's Who's At Highest Risk
The U.S. has had about 10 times more coronavirus cases than were captured by testing, according to new estimates released by the federal government.
www.npr.org
"Millions of Americans have probably had the coronavirus without knowing it.
That's the conclusion of officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and many other experts.
"Our best estimate right now is that for every case that was reported, there actually were 10 other infections," Dr. Robert Redfield, the director of the CDC, said during a call with reporters Thursday."
Now, instead of 2.3 million confirmed cases, we have about 7.4 million confirmed cases that we know of. We're doing more testing now, so even if it's not a ten to one ratio anymore, this suggests far more than 20 million people have had Covid in the USA? 30 million, 40 million? I don't know. At what point do we establish some type of herd immunity?
