“And there shall wait on them [the Muslim men] young boys of their own, as fair as virgin pearls” (Qur’an 52.24)

“They shall be attended by boys graced with eternal youth, who will seem like scattered pearls to the beholders” (Qur’an 76.19)

The verses don’t particularly state whether the youth are there merely to act as servants or if they are there to also satisfy their sexual lusts. To be fair, the virgin passages do not menion explicitly what their owners are allowed to do with them either.

Muhammad was a pedophile. If any Muslim finds that statement offensive then what are we to make of the fact that he married a 6 year old girl—Aisha—and had sexual intercourse with her at the age of 9 (Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64)? We must take a look at context to extrapolate any significance from the quotes above.

We, of course, know from other “holy” texts, such as the Bible from where much of the Qur’an is based from, that they repeatedly contradict themselves. This is why you often find verses condemning homosexuality as in these passages here:

“If two men among you is guilty of lewdness, punish them both” (Qur’an 4:16)

“Do you practice your lusts on men instead of women? Nay, but you are a people who behave senselessly” (Qur’an 27:55)

It is, however, well established that many famous Muslims were practicing homosexuals who looked towards the Koran to justify their actions. For example, Babur, the mughal king was madly in love with a young boy named Baburi (from the Babur link provided type ‘Ctrl + F’ and type ‘Baburi’). Renowned Arabic poet Abu Nuwas, famous for his poems on “mudhakkarat” or “boy love” writes in the Perfumed Garden:

O the joy of sodomy! So now be sodomites, you Arabs.
Turn not away from it—therein is wondrous pleasure.
Take some coy lad with kiss-curls twisting on his temple
and ride as he stands like some gazelle standing to her mate.

-A lad whom all can see girt with sword and belt

Nevertheless, Muhammad would always warn his followers to “beware of beardless youth” who “have eyes more tempting than the houris (i.e. female virgins).” So it seems that the prophet prohibits pedophilia (or perhaps pederasty) here on Earth, but mentions that they can enjoy them in heaven. From the looks of it, some of them just couldn’t contain themselves. It seems rather odd to forbid something in such a way if you think about it. He doesn’t just forbid it, he provides a word of caution about their power of attraction. This seems to almost warn about a guilty pleasure of some sort.

All that said, while the Qur’an seems to not only contradict itself, as well as provide questionable morality (to put it mildly), we can rest peacefully knowing that these verses—and the entire text for that matter—represent nothing but fiction. A poorly plagiarized one at that.

Your interpretation of virgins and young boys is a little strange.

I believe it was Louis Carol (among others) that had photographs of naked children at home. Not because he was pedophile, but because youth was seen as purity. It was like having a photo of an unspoiled mountain wilderness over the mantle piece.

Virginity is seen as a purity thing too, even in the US where it is encouraged that young people marry as virgins. I don't get it myself, but there you go.
