In a STUNNER of a Vote - GOP Votes Against Lowering Gas Prices/Price Gouging

A bill to help against Price Gouging and corporations cutting the "little guy" by messing with oil and gas prices

Rather than look for an excuse to hassle gas station owners barely staying afloat, most of them making so little money from gas that they need to sell food to stay open, republicans rightfully want to blame the BIG GUY who caused such high prices in the first place!

Come this Fall, this country will be going on one massive BEAT DOWN of every leftist as a preamble to the REAL thumping coming in 2024.

It was a nothing bill.
Both sides do this - so everyone pretending this amounted to anything is simply being a party sheep.

Typical bill procedures in our fully corrupt government..

STEP 1
- come up with a name that makes it sound like the other party is a real asshole if they don't vote for it.
STEP 2 - Fill it with all manner of spending and favors for your political side that have nothing to do with what you say the bill is about.
STEP 3 - When the votes come in - make sure and work with your media cohorts to show how much of an asshole the other party is for DARING to vote against this important bill.

And then watch the party sheep like the OP and Mac1958 etc. to fall in line and parrot the message.

Price gouging is just price controls wrapped in focus group tested wording lefties will fall for.
Price controls made the 70's shortages worse & is a marxist tactic that goes against the very idea of free markets.
How about our govt comes out & says we are not going to phase out fossil fuels?
That would go a lot further towards fixing the supply & demand problems we are facing than a govt power grab over private markets & pricing

The Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act would give the President the power to issue an Energy Emergency Declaration that would make it unlawful to increase gasoline and home energy fuel prices in an excessive or exploitative manner.

DURR

who gets to define excessive or exploitative when it comes to gas prices?

Well Todd--- we ARE talking about the administration that told us a week ago that they COULDN'T use emergency powers to combat the babyfood crisis, then admitted they've known about it since January and did nothing about it, to 5 days later INVOKING the emergency powers act to get the baby food made post haste!

Amazing what democrats can get done when an election is coming up soon.

And to add to this hilariously DUMB bill....
It doesn't, in any way, address the ACTUAL PROBLEM - SHOCKER!!!

Let's see a raise of hand how many think gas price inflation is due to local gas stations gouging the public?? Anyone???
No one??
Let's see a raise of hands how many think gas price inflation is a self caused supply issue by the participating oil cartels to drive up costs?? Oh WOW!!.... everyone raised their hands!!!

Now... if you freeze the pump price (currently at an all time high) - what reaction do you think will be carried out by the oil cartels??
If you are smart enough to know that answer, then you are smart enough to see why this bill is a bad idea.
As well as how one party will not pause to make matters worse if they can score political points from their sheep in the process

Is their political interest to make things as shit as possible so they have a shot at the 2022 Midterms?

Or is their political interest to help Americans who voted for them?

Seems in your haste to push your propaganda, you failed to mention 4 dems broke ranks and voted against it as well. Makes you wonder how bad the bill was for that to happen.
